Ed huffed and brought the receiver down on the counter for a moment, pouting like a child, arms crossed. No, it just wasn’t fair! This was supposed to work, he’d went over all the details, it was fool proof!
….But he did need Digger’s help getting back out. With a sigh he picked it back up and gave his friend his best, most irresistible puppy eyes.
“You can get me out, can’t you Boomie?”
He leaned forward in his seat, placing his palm against the glass that separated them.
“I have faith… a smart, strapping man like you~” he smirked some.
“We’ll have drinks on me once I’m on the other side.”
Digger was quiet for a few moments, not coming up with an answer right away. His brows furrowed together as he thought it over. He wasn’t going to just let Ed stay stuck in there right? He could definitely break him out, but that was a lot of work, and this wasn’t Iron Heights, a prison he knew a lot more about. Plus Iron Heights didn’t have a Batman hanging around half the time.
However he couldn’t fight the small pull of loyalty he was feeling. Stupid feelings. Why did he have to befriend people? Why did he have to befriend people who dragged him into shit like this? He got himself into trouble enough as it is.
❝Fine,❞ Digger replied quietly. ❝But don’t think I’m gonna be makin’ a habit o’ savin’ ya, mate, alright? Maybe next time you’ll think t’ listen t’ me, huh?❞
