Last night at the #Grammys, @beyonce invited us to look deep within so we can create positive change. We know Beyonce isn't for everyone but we also recognize the impact she has made on many communities, especially Black women and girls. We appreciate her being bold and pushing a gate-keeping industry that doesn't always recognize Black art. her. Via: @thisisfusion

The 17-year-old YouTube cover star turned serious musician
Jacob Whitesides is only 17 years old, but has made the leap from recording cover songs on YouTube to writing his own music. It’s been a year of milestones. In February, he released his debut EP, A Piece of Me. Throughout March, he toured the United States, opening for Fifth Harmony. In May, he headlined a sold-out European tour (which was so successful that he went back again in September). In the summer, he toured the United States once again, but this time with R5. And whenever there was a break between the live shows, he wrote and recorded for his next album, Faces On Film, set to release on October 23rd. He also became the CEO of his own label, Double U Records. “I’ve seen a lot of artists that transition from YouTube to a record label deal and, it’s like, everything becomes not organic,” Whitesides says, when asked why he wanted to take on such a role. His biggest fear, he says, is not having 100% access to his fans anymore. “I don’t really have anything else but them.” This is an episode of SoundBites, a Fusion original web series. Whether on tour, at the recording studio, or at home, SoundBites provides a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse at the lives of today’s top musical artists.
Paul F. Tompkins to Take on 2016 Election as FUSION Greenlights Fourth Season of 'No, You Shut Up!'
FUSION Greenlights Fourth Season of Comedy News Show Hosted by Comedian Paul F. Tompkins and Featuring Puppet Pundits from Henson Alternative
Two “No, You Shut Up!” Special Reports to Air November 5 & 12 at 10:00pm with New Season Premiering February 2016
FUSION today announced that its critically acclaimed comedy news program "No, You Shut Up!" will be returning for a fourth season and will be focusing its attention on the 2016 election cycle. The show, hosted by comedian Paul F. Tompkins, will receive a 25-episode run premiering February 4, 2016 just as voters start going to the polls in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Fans of the show that Rolling Stone named one of the "10 TV Shows You Need to Be Watching in 2015" won't have to wait until 2016. One year before the country elects the next President, FUSION will air two "No, You Shut Up!" special reports on Thursday, November 5 and Thursday, November 12 at 10:00pm. Tompkins and his puppet pundits will take stock of the current field of candidates in their own unique way, offering insight no other news program can deliver -- because those other shows offer zero talking squirrels and hardly any sentient hot dogs.
“I can’t wait to jump into this election season with ‘No, You Shut Up!,’” said host Paul F. Tompkins. “What a challenge it will be to make a comedy show more ridiculous than the system by which we elect the leader of the free world! I am thrilled to be back with this amazingly talented group of people -- and the non-people they give voice to.”
“Comedy and satire can be immensely powerful tools when it comes to provoking conversations about issues,” said FUSION Chief Programming Officer Wade Beckett. “I am thrilled to have Paul and the team bringing a seriously fun approach to how we look at the 2016 campaign.”
“With hilarious talent and writing, No, You Shut Up! has become one of our favorite projects here at the Company,” said Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company. “The show has reached its creative and comedic stride and the timing couldn’t be better. With the election year upon us, the show’s team has the opportunity to bring their A-game to lampoon the news of the day as can only be done by aliens, seagulls and talking lunchboxes.” Follow NYSU across social media -- Twitter (@NoYouShutUp), Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. “No, You Shut Up!,” which has aired on FUSION since the network’s launch in 2013, was created by David Javerbaum (“The Daily Show”) and is produced by The Jim Henson Company’s Henson Alternative banner, its label for content created specifically and exclusively for adult audiences. Tompkins, Nelson Walters, Lisa Henson, and Brian Henson serve as executive producers. The third season featured a wide-range of guests including Jack Black, Matt Walsh (“Veep”), Keegan M. Key and Jordan Peele (“Key and Peele”), Bob Odenkirk (“Mr. Show,” “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul”), Judy Greer (“Arrested Development”) and Danny Pudi (“Community”).
It's been a long day without you, my friend, and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again. We've come a long way from where we began, oh I'll tell you all about it when I see you again.
RIP connorratliff‘s eyes.
