#UfuomaeesTop10 #BibleVerses No.4 John 15:13 I just love how this verse affirms the love of God to us. Here, Jesus calls us friends, and says that His love is so great - the greatest kind - that He is ready, willing and able to lay down His life for our sakes. And then He does it. It's one thing to acknowledge what love is, but it's another to do what love does. Jesus didn't shrink from His Cross when the time came. Though it was hard for Him to, He went willingly... He went assuredly. He then tells us that we are qualified to be called His friends if we do whatsoever He commands (verse 14). In the preceeding verse, He had expressed clearly what His command is: . . "This is My commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you..." (verse 12). . . So, after He gives this command to us, this verse, like the one in Romans 5, tells us just how to love one another - by willingly laying down our lives for each other. This is how God has loved us and how we return His love, by being obedient to His command to love one another the same way. So, when Jesus said in John 14:15, "if you love Me, you will obey My commandments..." this is what He meant. This is His commandment. This is the Law of the New Covenant. That we love one another with the greatest love possible, just as He did by laying down His life for us. And if we do, we are truly His disciples and we are truly His friends. . . #Blogger #Minister #Teacher #Author #Writer #LoverofGod #PassionForChrist #Wisdom #Knowledge #Understanding #Christianity #Jesus #Love #ThisIsMyCommandment #NewCovenant #FriendsofGod #DisciplesofJesus #TheCross - #regrann
