The DR only has a few schools for kids with special needs, but I'm lucky enough to have one located in my community. They've been working incredibly hard for the past 33 years to care for these sweet kids, support their families, and raise awareness about the importance of acceptance and inclusion. Each week I get to spend an afternoon there and support in the reorganization of their library, and today I got to witness their beautiful Mother's Day celebration. 💝 #thisismyservice #peacecorps #pcdr #peacecorpsdominicanrepublic (at Dajabón)

Today, I went outside to draw a rainbow with sidewalk chalk with the kids. Three colors later, and the heavens opened up - the storm had arrived. 

I guess it’s true: You can’t have the rainbow without the rain -_-

Also true: Beauty is temporary. It’s much easier to destroy than create. Kids are jerks.
