This one is very fun for me :D I love 100 Hours Hardcore so so much and I have so many thoughts about it turning into "Actually, this smp is for Scar now-" after a bit. Again, I am not immune to SMPs with a theme of friendship. I'm a big fan of drawing this "scene" specifically because there's so much you can do with it compositionally.

The premise and caption for this one - "Icarus and the Sun" - is about when Scar's elytra broke and Grian was flying after him. I thought it'd be fun to play with implying each of them are both. Because of the framing and because Grian has the feathered wings and Scar is backlit by the sun that paints Grian as Icarus, but Grian's username also means "Sun" which is why he has so many sun associations in fanon. And then contextually, Scar is obviously Icarus, because he literally flew too high and his wings broke.

Also I hid some watcher stuff in Grian's wings! They're a little more purple than usual and there's very subtle eyes. His tail feathers are also fluffier than usual because my 100 Hours Hardcore!Grian is a phoenix! My usual design for him is very green and peacock-inspired (Because apparently "Grien" means "Green") but here I decided to keep more to the scarlet macaw colors, since we're viewing him from behind so it keeps him more recognizable.

And the fact that she had worked at radio before even first Almastor art droped, its like it was meant to be–-

gotta give credit where it's due, the idea of Alma working at a radio station mostly came from this one fanfic, ♣️ Treasure Hunt ♣️

but also because i was doing a lot of editing at the time, i guess i wanted her to work somewhere that could involve writing while not making her a full-on author; she's happy polishing other people's work!

and then i needed to give her at least one friend and it all just fell into place nicely, i can't imagine her without Alastor anymore :'^) i'm glad you like them too!! ! 💕🧡💕

lowkey feel like firelocke is one of those situations where theyre only shipped because theyre two attractive (in fanart) men
