Alter Ego (Ashiya Douman) Garage Kit by Cochineal, from Fate/Grand Order
Let's get ooc out of the way. Hey look, it's Hermes's housemates.
Here are the bugs they're based off of.
Flint, the Desert Stink beetle.
Clara, the old Cochineal.
And Chert, the Gossamer Wing butterfly.
Maybe I could do flashbacks if you want to see them. Hopefully I can design some bug bodies too.

Cochineal, here we come!
It is old, but is looking good so far. We shall see what happens.

When color became power…
The Aztecs (NAHUA) discovered something so small, yet so revolutionary, that it changed the world forever: the tiny cochineal insect.
From this insect, they created a deep crimson dye called nocheztli — a red so vivid and everlasting that Europeans were left in awe.
Spanish royalty draped themselves in it.
Renaissance painters demanded it.
It became one of the most valuable exports of the New World.
But for the Aztecs, it wasn’t just color. It was science, art, and technology long before modern labs existed. This was Aztec biotechnology — proof that Indigenous knowledge shaped global history.
Next time you see a brilliant red, remember: behind it lies the genius of Mexico’s ancestors.

Wow! dye processes on my art blog?
The red pieces are red linen over dyed with indigo
The central piece is white Kona cotton dyed using painted mordant with cochineal
I can’t wait to make things from these fabrics!
The center piece will just be made into a bandana and the others will probably be sewn together in some way
