I absolutely did not expect these to work for me, given their cheapness. I needed 100% blackout to create a space for post-production coloring work, and I had a lot of light coming in a couple windows. Amazingly, they block out all the light. Completely. I've since moved them to another office and am equally pleased. I can't speak to their thermal insulation qualities because I haven't used them for that purpose, but I can imagine they help a little bit.

Can't speak highly enough of these drives. I use them mostly for delivery of files, but they're also great for budget capture drives, and I've even edited off of them on occasion. Not a great recommendation for heavy lifting, but they're the best around at this price range.

Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i Mobile Document Scanner

Even though iPhone takes a pretty solid photo (and can be enhanced with handy apps like JotNot Pro!), this guy is essential to have on set when there are mounds of paperwork to digitize. Big enough to be a workhorse, small enough to shove in the bag. Takes up so little desk/table/floor space too!

Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer with Wireless Networking and Duplex: Electronics

Solid laser printer. Duplex. Light enough to shove in a bin and take to set. Looks pretty in the office, too.
