I'm excited that you're excited about IT - I wasn't even aware there was a remake in the works. The ending always let me down, though. Do you feel the ending was appropriate for the story, or do you hope the remake will improve on it?

It’s one of the upcoming King adaptations that I’m most excited for (the other being The Jaunt, my favorite short story of any writer ever).

If you’re talking about the ending for the original miniseries, I don’t really love how they did it because it completely deviates from the important fact that It is female and pregnant which is a part of the book I always enjoyed. In fact, the entire second half isn’t something I’m as fond of as I could be. Personal opinion is that I suppose it’s decent as a standalone piece (though I adore the first part to death) but I look at it like I look at the Battle Royale adaptation: great if you’ve never read the very strong source material, lazy and weak if you compare it to the books (and/or manga in BR’s case).

But maybe you mean the ending in the book? Which I absolutely love more than words could say. I like the way It is handled, I like the way the Losers‘ Club fights in the final showdown and the flood is keeping in line with the pattern of brutal violence that follows the town of Derry in the town’s significant moments. I hope the remake follows it almost word for word, shot for shot because with today’s special effects and the budget they could be afforded, it would be incredible to watch on screen.

G: What was your first fandom? 

Oh god, way back when I was in the Nightmare Before Christmas fandom. I met some nice people, but other than that the whole thing was embarrassing (though I still enjoy the movie).

Insidious 1 was way more fun than I thought it would be. 2 was the better one, imho, if only because I really enjoyed that group of characters the first time. Thoughts on "Unfriended", "The Gift"?

The Insidious series is one of my favorite modern horror series and I’m looking forward to third one SO much. They’re always a thrill ride, so I’m always happy to hear about someone else watching and enjoying them.

I’m a bit unsure about Unfriended, but I’ll probably go see it because I get in for free anyways (yay working at a movie theater) and I’m a sucker for just about any horror movie. The idea strikes me as kind of… odd and I don’t have particularly high hopes for it, but it could go either way. I think it’ll be an interesting one to watch unfold storyline wise, but it also seems like a very difficult concept to execute well so only a viewing will tell.

The Gift I’m pretty excited for, if only for the cast. It’s not a terribly original idea but it looks exciting enough for me to hope we get it at work. I’m not pumped for it but at the same time it looks like a great way to spend 2 hours. Definitely excited to see what kind of twists they could introduce to make this movie stand out from any others that may be similar to it.

Oh, let’s talk about puns. That’s one thing I’m always excited about. Every language has puns. The best part of learning a new language is SO MANY NEW PUNS POSSIBILITIES HOLY FUCKING SHIT ON A STICK =D

But the weirdest, most fascinating thing about puns is that the lamest they are the better they are. The very best ones are those that make you facepalm and laugh at the same time.
