I think one thing I pay really close attention to is patterns. They're everywhere and we can learn so much from them. When I learn from guys like @garyvee and @lewishowes I find patterns to what they're saying that I've heard other successful people also say. I also find patterns with the networking between these successful people I listen to. I just started listening to @garyvee this week. And sure enough I come across him on the @lewishowes podcast @schoolofgreatness. It also doesn't surprise me that I also noticed @garyvee was on @joerogan podcast too. Another podcast I follow closely. Successful people talk and network with other successful people. All. The. Time. If you're looking for more content to learn from. Find someone successful you like. thank you for pointing out how jeb belittled fast food workers as well as psych majors. also, thank you for sharing your own story, and how that led to your desire to help others with similar experiences :)

I’m not lying when I say that some of the fast food workers I’ve had the pleasure of working with are some of the smartest individuals I know. I’ve come to respect and admire so many of them. And they’re all super supportive! When one of my friends moved to Florida to pursue a degree in hospitality, we all celebrated with her, and wished her well. They couldn’t wait to get updates from me while I did my internship in Disney, where I worked with more extremely intelligent people in a quick service restaurant. Most of my friendships are from the people that I’ve met in those jobs, and I hate when people reduce us to uneducated high schoolers.

I also don’t understand where this idea comes from that psych is an easy degree to get. I had to agonize through a research methods cycle at my school that wipes a lot of people out of the major! I met a girl studying chemistry (which I can’t do for the life of me) who told me she could never do psych because she found it so difficult. It drives me nuts when people say that a degree in psych is the easy way out. And do they even realize how versatile it is? Marketing, human relations, training dolphins at sea world (or somewhere else, whatever floats your boat), working in the education system, becoming a rape crisis counselor, doing research for numerous organizations, and so many more. One of the girls in my internship class is at a therapeutic horse riding camp. So to tell us that our degrees are worthless is just ignorant.

And I’m always willing to share my experiences, anon! I firmly believe that we can’t make a difference if we don’t speak out, so I tend to be a bit outspoken on the matter. But helping others like me has been my plan for a while now, and stupid Jeb Bush can’t convince me otherwise!
