I totally understand what you mean, and it is a really good thing that they get veganism more publicity. I just find that lately it is almost always for the wrong reasons, and I'm also well aware they were never intended as a shelter BUT my point is that with the amoutn of publicity and money they attract, they could so easily either establish or fund sanctuaries and shelters therefore ead by example, stick to the message that they preach, instead of being hypocrites!

(about the peta post) I get your point, but at the end of the day we're talking about probably the biggest organisation of it's kinda in the world bar none, with nearly 40 million in funding every year, they are (unfortunately in my opinion) the figure head for everything that vegans believe in, and for me, they make us look like fucking arseholes in front of the rest of the world every time they spend money putting a naked girl in a magazine instead of helping an animal in need.
Lets get this straight: I don't support PETA.
However, the fact that they have become the biggest veg*n organization in the world and that they are so popular means that more people know about veg*nism than they would had it not been for their annoying shenanigans. People would then look up more information about veg*nism and find all the smaller organizations that arent as bad (Mercy for Animals, Vegan Outreach, ALF) So, really theyre just useful for publicity.
I have no problem with the "I'd rather go Naked" because it is consentual (I highly doubt PETA kidnapped all those people and forced them to take those pictures) This is what i have a problem with:

I fucking love you for what you said on the thing you just reblogged! How ironic is it that people are actually judged and persecuted for being cis gendered. It pisses me off beyond belief how many people that pride themselves on being so fucking open minded and everything that they hate and discriminate against those that are naturally inclined to more 'traditional' gender roles or lifestyles! I'm a straight white vegan male that accepts EVERYONE for who they are, with no exceptions.
It always makes me laugh when people try and make the argument that humans were meant to eat meat, as we are top of the food chain, yeah true, earlier in our history it has been necessary to eat meat, but I don't think thats a good enough argument to say that we still should! It's kind've like saying if you're strong you HAVE to kill everyone weaker than you, think we've evolved beyond that, Plus hunting back then was very different to the battery farming and cruelty animals are forced through!
Exactly. Back when we needed meat to survive, things were completely different. Now we have the resources & knowledge to better the lives of ourselves & those animals, but ignorant people still choose to kill them because "that's what we're supposed to do".. It's just sad that people don't educate themselves more & see that they can make a simple choice to be compassionate.
also (couldn't fit this in my last ask) but I've followed you for quite a long time, and you genuinely seem like an amazing and beautiful person in every sense of that word! The way that some people have judged you and said horrible things about you shows that they are clearly shitty people that have no right to judge anybody (not that anyone does anyway) and yeah, just you're awesome so don't let that shit get you down haha xx
Thank you so much, again. I really appreciate all the kind words. These past few days have been really rough but I'm just learning to relax & brush it off. I live my life as a compassionate, loving, caring, good person & if someone can't see that, then that's their loss.
Not gonna lie, was very much expecting to be shot down when I sent that but glad you agreed haha, to me the modern world is a multicultural place, England nowwadays definitely is anyway, and thats an amazing thing to me, the more we can share and change, evolve and understand different cultures the more racism and stupid ideas like that become a thing of a past, to say we should all stick to our culture, and never cross, to me is the most racist and ignorant thing that you can say!
