(about the peta post) I get your point, but at the end of the day we're talking about probably the biggest organisation of it's kinda in the world bar none, with nearly 40 million in funding every year, they are (unfortunately in my opinion) the figure head for everything that vegans believe in, and for me, they make us look like fucking arseholes in front of the rest of the world every time they spend money putting a naked girl in a magazine instead of helping an animal in need.
Lets get this straight: I don't support PETA.
However, the fact that they have become the biggest veg*n organization in the world and that they are so popular means that more people know about veg*nism than they would had it not been for their annoying shenanigans. People would then look up more information about veg*nism and find all the smaller organizations that arent as bad (Mercy for Animals, Vegan Outreach, ALF) So, really theyre just useful for publicity.
I have no problem with the "I'd rather go Naked" because it is consentual (I highly doubt PETA kidnapped all those people and forced them to take those pictures) This is what i have a problem with:
And like i told little veganite, they were meant to be a organization to spread the word about veg*nism, they didn't intend to become a shelter. People just assumed shit and started dropping their animals off there and it got out of hand.
And you're right, they could spend their money in a more effective way.
