AH EARTH'S CHILDREN ASKS. OK SO. Some parts of the Earth’s Children books were god awful and if people would just communicate problems would stop fucking blowing out of proportion…But The Way that LGBT(and NB) people were treated as respected members of the community and hand picked by the Mother Goddess herself to be representatives of Her really makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Me and @kittyknowsthings actually realized that the entire plot could be fixed by Jondalar dying via lion mauling, Thonolan surviving and kinda ending up as Ayla’s adopted older brother, and her eventually mating Ranec. Well, and a lot of other stuff, five or six polycules, and lots more queerness. 

I may have her convinced to write it now.

That’s really fucking gross of them

Not just gross but horrifically medically inaccurate. Like, I have Bad morning sickness. Like, really bad. Like, you’d THINK at this point it’d be gone, but currently the little motivational sign hanging in my brain states “It has been [3] days since Threatie accidentally puked in their own lap” so like, getting on the scale and actually seeing that the number has risen makes me go “yessss, I have successfully cared for my physical form!” But, like, maybe not really, because I’m five pounds short of the amount I’m “supposed” to have gained at this point. (And the only reason I know that is because I have fucking researched pregnancy. No one has actually talked about my weight with me in a medical fucking capacity.) Now, maybe that’s okay, because a big part of that is just straight-up the weight of the smol person, and, given my personal and familial history of making seven-pound smol people, maybe I just gained less weight because my person is SMOL. But that’s just speculation, because no one has fucking checked. Because no one is actually upset about my weight other than me. 

So, when I said that my BMI was still being included in my medical records, it wasn’t me being upset that “oh no, I’m not fat I’m pregnant,” I’m upset because “WTF WHY DOES THIS PAPER SAY I HAVE A HEALTHY BMI, THIS IS NOT A HEALTHY BMI, THERE’S FUCKING TWO OF ME AND THAT’S NOT GODDAMN ACCOUNTED FOR.” 

I just feel like, because I am “thin,” nobody is even a LITTLE BIT concerned about whether or not I’m healthy. Because there have actually been a LOT of comments on my body from the medical professionals at this practice, but they’ve all been along the lines of “tall thin women are so cute when they’re pregnant!” and “aww, look at you; you look so good for being (insert degree of pregnancy)!”

I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK GOOD, I’M SUPPOSED TO BE MAKING A HEALTHY HUMAN.

Listen, my given name was hyphenated. Like, on my birth certificate. I started life with some shit that didn’t fit on a name tag and was rejected by most online records systems. 

“Your username is your last name and first initial.”

“Okay, which last name? The first one? The last one? All of it? Space or hyphen? Both capitalized or only the first one?” “IT’S YOUR FIRST INITIAL AND LAST NAME, THREATIE, I DON’T GET WHAT’S SO HARD ABOUT THIS.”

“MY LAST NAME IS WHAT’S HARD ABOUT THIS!”

And then, like. Calling ANYWHERE that had to look me up by name. “Now, that’s a double last name, just so you know. Yeah, I’ll repeat the spelling. No, that’s not my first name, that’s the FIRST half of my LAST name. Yeah, it’s a double last name. No, that’s not my middle name, it’s my LAST name. Yeah, I’m sure you’re not finding any records under that name; it’s the SECOND half of my LAST name. BOTH of those are my LAST name, IN THAT ORDER. YES, I’M SURE I’M A PATIENT THERE. YOU JUST HAVEN’T FOUND ME BECAUSE YOU’RE ENTERING MY NAME WRONG. YES, I’LL HOLD.”

Soooo yeah I 100% stole his name. Like, before we were married I was like “I want your last name. If we make this official I’m taking it.” He was joking around a while ago like “lol imagine if I divorced you and you had to go back to your maiden name.”

“Nope, if you divorce me I’m keeping your name.”

“WHAT- NO, THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS-”

“It’s mine now, fucker! I’m keeping it ‘till I dieeeeeee~”

I like the Inquisitor class from Pathfinder. a more Judgey version of a Paladin. My GM also had a favorite saying that Lawful Good doesn’t mean Lawful Nice. I wish people played their Pallys more interestingly!!!

i’ll have to oogley googley that but i think more judgey paladins would make me hate paladins even more lmao

it’s not so much like, the characterization, i just find their skillsets to be really like... fucking.... boring. I WISH I HAD A BETTER ARGUMENT FOR THIS BUT I DON’T I’VE JUST NEVER EXPERIENCED ANY KIND OF PALADIN THAT SPARKS ANY LOVE IN MY HEART FOR THEIR ACTUAL MECHANICS. just like, mechanically, they’re too lawful good for me. you know? the whole like righteous support soldier thing.
