They say whatever doesn't break you, refines you. I have much to say about what I've been going through this past few weeks when the bum season took its toll on me, but whatever I wrote got accidentally erased today. Booboo. (Apple should seriously consider adding a Ctrl+Z option to its Notes and Messages on iPhone). Been trying to remind myself of God's promises this season to fight the anxieties. I have to constantly remind myself that worrying is practical aetheism. It's as if saying we dont really believe our loving Heavenly Father will keep his promises to care for us (got this from Rick Warren). These are the promises I'll hang on to until God brings me through to my next season: Eternal versus Temporal Life 1 John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. That God's purpose will stand Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Predestination/ Pre-appointment Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Rest for my soul Jeremiah 6:16 This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls... Fulfillment of God's good promises Joshua 21:45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. Being Kept Safe (Trust versus Fear) Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Overflowing Fruitfulness Genesis 49:22 “Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall. New thing will spring up Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Strength&Righteousness(in God) Isaiah 45:24 They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone are righteousness and strength. ’” All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame. Ditection in the way I should go Isaiah 48:17 This is what the Lord says– your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. Not be disappointed Isaiah 49:23 Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” Ransom&Rescue Isaiah 50:2 Was my arm too short to ransom you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert... God's thoughts are higher than mine Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. My inheritance Isaiah 57:13 But the man who makes me his refuge will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.” Best things instead of good Isaiah 60:17 Instead of bronze I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones. I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler. Peace like a river&that the hand of God will be made known Isaiah 66:12 For this is what the Lord says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream...
