Check out Jules Robins’ article on the Legendary Cube! It will be up starting March 30 and last through April 15 when Shadows over Innistrad prereleases begin.

Format: Oath of the Gatewatch/Battle for Zendikar Sealed

Start Time: 7am Pacific

This Week In MTGO Events

Battle for Zendikar is almost on Magic Online, with Prereleases beginning on Friday at 10am Pacific.  Here is the schedule for the next week:

Wednesday, October 7 during the downtime:

New mulligan rule takes effect for all Magic Online events and casual games

Pre-rotation Standard League ends. If you have a course in progress, make sure to finish your matches!

Post-rotation Standard League begins.

Battle for Zendikar will now be legal in constructed, though players won’t have cards from it yet.

Theros, Born of the Gods, Journey into Nyx, and Magic 2015 will no longer be legal in Standard

Banned/Restricted Changes for Legacy and Vintage take effect

Pauper, Legacy, and Vintage event changes described in my article last month take effect.

Friday, October 9 at 10am Pacific:

Battle for Zendikar Prereleases begin

Legacy Cube drafts end

Monday, October 12 at 10am Pacific:

Battle for Zendikar and From the Vault: Angels go on sale in the Magic Online store

Battle for Zendikar Releases Events begin

Battle for Zendikar Prereleases end 

Wednesday, October 14 during the downtime:

Constructed booster prizes will change from Magic Origins boosters to Battle for Zendikar boosters

This Week In Events

Every Tuesday, I post about what’s coming up in events that week.

Tonight, watch the Standard Super League at 6pm Pacific at http://twitch.tv/magic! The 12 competitors are divided into three groups: The Brewers, the Group of Death, and the Streamers. Tonight is Week 2 of the Group Stage!

Qualifiers for the Magic Origins Standard Championship also begin after the downtime (and they will accept your Play Points as well) and end Tuesday night. Win a Conclave Naturalist promo just for participating, and a Languish promo if you do well enough to qualify for the Saturday, August 29 championship event.

Modern Masters 2015 Edition 6-2-2-2 Swiss Draft Queues are up between the August 19 downtime and the August 26 downtime. Play this exciting draft format that will be used in the upcoming Magic World Championship.

Want to qualify for Pro Tour Battle for Zendikar? There’s a Standard PTQ Finals on Saturday. Prelims start after the downtime through the day before the finals, and will accept Play Points to join them that way. Good luck qualifying!

Did you qualify for the Magic Online Limited Championship? If so, you can play in it at 7am Pacific on Sunday, August 23. Good luck!

Every Tuesday, I plan to post about what’s coming up in events that week.

After tomorrow’s downtime, the recently-announced event changes take effect. If you’ve got some Play Points in your account already, you can use them to join any number of events. If not, you can start earning them!

Qualifiers for the Magic Origins Limited Championship also begin after the downtime (and they will accept your Play Points as well) and end Tuesday night. Win a Conclave Naturalist promo just for participating, and a Languish promo if you do well enough to qualify for the Sunday, August 23 championship event.
