The remarkable Jad Fair, long time mate of the equally (perhaps more so) remarkable Daniel Johnston has a new band, ergo he has new shizzle fur us tuh listen too tuh boot. As it says about the pair on Last.fm...
...this pairing of these two musical savants is a successful foray into pop music as therapy. The songs tend to be about simple pleasure, and the instrumentation is sparse.
Anyway, Jad's now in a band called The Whistling Joy Jumpers, a band that features Jad Fair himself (also of Half Japanese), Thollem McDonas (Tsigoti, Hand To Man Band), and Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and they've come together to make an improvised album of simple, playful, joyful tunes.
