HELLO GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME
ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER EDITION OF
THOUGHT FROM A THOT
and this one is a little different! @hazard-15 requested some Tank headcanons, and of course I said yes! I gotta admit, Tank isn’t really one I’ve decked into very much, so this was really fun trying to get into his head!
Tank might seem like a bit of a dumbass, but the truth is that he’s actually pretty intelligent. The caveat is that he really only is intelligent about certain things. He may not be booksmart, but ask him about weaponry and he can give you the exact names and makes of thirty different types of guns off the top of his head, and can describe how each one operates with no hesitation. He absorbs knowledge about things that he’s interested in, but if it doesn’t capture his attention then he just kind of tunes it out.
That being said, there are obviously many moments where he does go full dumbass lmao. And those tend to be the moments where he’s at his most brash, screaming obscenities and stupid quips. Those are also the moments when he has the most fun!
The motto of the marines is semper fidelis, meaning ‘always loyal’, and Tank lives and dies by that. He would never let any of his allies- as reluctant of allies they may be- fall without putting up a hell of a fight to save them first. He also values them more than he lets on, especially Edward. He’d never speak it out loud, especially not to their faces, but he knows that they all carry their own baggage and damages, those things only being amplified in the disastrous world they find themselves in. The least he can do it try to help them carry the bags.
If we’re talking about the Ultimis crew- I imagine there have likely been brief moments where Tank has seen the cracks in Edward’s facade. Where he’s seen the real, damaged, broken Richtofen beneath the veneer of insanity. And in those moments, he has no idea what the hell to do. They often are so brief that before he actually could think to do anything, Edward has brought the walls back up, and Tank is left wondering if the peek of humanity was a hallucination.
For Primis, it’s a bit different- Tank would never have been one to outwardly show very much emotion, until the moment he was faced with the death of his ultimis counterpart. It was that moment that made him realize that his three allies were the only tangible thing he had left in the world; the only thing he could really call some semblance of family. From that moment onward, he learned to have a certain level of empathy with the others, something he never fully understood until then.
And touching on something that was apparently retconned from the storyline- Tank with his kid! From what I remember- and I don’t know if this was confirmed in canon or it was just a commonly accepted headcanon- I think he had a daughter. And you best believe that Tank would be front and center playing dress up and having tea parties with that little girl. A hardass marine he may be, but nothing comes between a papa and making his little princess happy.
AAAAAAA THIS WAS SO FUN TO DO!! I really hope you like these @hazard-15!!!
