MY OASIS BOYS SAID THEY'D BREAK MY LEGS
The bitterness that wracks the family of Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher has been revealed by their dad.
In an extraordinary interview, Tommy Gallagher told how his boys once threatened to break his legs when he attempted a reconciliation.
And he claimed tales of his boozing and womanising had poisoned them against him.
Last night Tommy, 51, was in prison at the start of a one-month sentence for breaking a drink- driving ban.
But he lifted the lid on the night Liam threatened him after a gig in Dublin.
Bitterly, Tommy said: "The lads found out I was in their hotel and threatened to break my legs.
"Then Liam's large babysitters came over. I told them: `Go back to your babysitting duties before the child breaks the lovely piano'.
"I thought to myself: `It must be his bed time. He always throws a tantrum before bedtime'. Liam came over, jumped up and landed in front of me!"
Tommy added: "Then he tapped at his rear pocket and said: `I'm a millionaire'.
"Then I winked at him and said: "Right then, I'll fight you if you promise not to kiss me.
"This made his babysitters laugh and Liam started shouting: `Your legs are gone, your legs are gone'. I shouted back: `You couldn't break Percy Sugden's legs'. The bouncers split us up."
He said the family break-up began years ago after a boozy night-out.
He landed in hospital after a punch-up with Noel and when he returned home it was empty.
Wife Peggy had taken Noel, Liam and eldest son Paul and fled the family home.
Noel and Liam have refused to talk to him ever since.
Yesterday, when asked about his father being in jail, Paul said: "I don't know what he's done and frankly I don't care. None of us will be going to see him. It's about time he got caught - it might do him good."
The resentment their skint father feels is obvious .
Tommy says: "The song, Champagne Super Nova - with the lyrics `Where were you while we were getting high' - is about me. I know that."
He has all the Oasis records, but now will not go to one of their concerts unless invited.
Gallagher is writing a book and he says: "I didn't start this war but I have the ammunition to finish it."
At a special concert in London's Royal Festival Hall on Friday, Noel was left to carry on alone after Liam was told to rest his voice by doctors when he complained of throat pains.
