Ok so since I’m basically answering basically 15 questions I’m going to put this under a cut since I’m inevitably going to go overboard with some of these.

💬 When did my muse go on their first date?
Does the blight count as a date? Dating in the Circle isn’t really a thing, and if it was then she wouldn’t have really been doing it.
😳 What was my muse’s worst romantic/sexual relationship?
Well I guess I’ll have to go with her crush on Cullen. That didn’t really end well.
🌼 Would my muse prefer a big wedding or a small wedding?
Merida never really expected to get married at all, that was never something that was allowed in the circle and she never had imagined a life for herself out of it. Once it does become an option she’d prefer something small, with just her friends there. She’d absolutely wear the fanciest most beautiful dress she could find though. Whoever she’s marrying would feel real lucky.
🏩 What was my muse’s first time like?
Well the first time she and Alistair tried so have sex she essentially had a panic attack, a life time of associating sex with something dangerous was just a lot to unpack. The first time they actually had sex though went very nicely, since by then they’d talked a lot of things over and went very slowly.
💝 Does my muse like Valentine’s Day?
She does! I don’t think she necessarily likes to make a big deal out of it, but she does really enjoy the opportunity to get her partner a little gift and spoil them a little (and be spoiled in return of course).

💬 When did my muse go on their first date?
In eighth grade he asked the girl he liked to the Halloween social. She said yes and he had his mom pick her up from her house and everything. They danced twice together, and then they ended up hanging out with their own group of friends for the majority of the night. The next week she told him she didn’t like him anymore, and that was the last date he’d been on in a while.
😳 What was my muse’s worst romantic/sexual relationship?
That would have to be the guy who was convinced that Thomas was going to cheat on him at some point once he found out he was bi. It made him really paranoid whenever they weren’t together, and the relationship didn’t last very long after that. He tried to talk shit about Thomas afterward, but no one that actually knew him took it very seriously.
🌼 Would my muse prefer a big wedding or a small wedding?
He’d probably go with a smaller wedding. He enjoys all the traditional aspects of a bigger wedding like the dancing and the fancy cake and the toasts and all that but he could do without all the fuss of a big wedding.
🏩 What was my muse’s first time like?
Just kind of fine. In high school he and his friend Natalie were experimenting, and they both just kind of decided that they didn’t really want their virginity hanging over them anymore. They both had a good enough time, but it wasn’t anything amazing. Luckily it didn’t make things awkward between them, and they stayed friends for a long time.

💬 When did my muse go on their first date?
Probably around fifteen he took a girl he liked out to one of the festivals during the holidays. They had a really nice time, and he was able to show off during one of the games and impress her. They saw each other for a little while longer before splitting up.
😳 What was my muse’s worst romantic/sexual relationship?
Since Raphael’s had a lot casual relationships he’s definitely had his fair share of good and bad experiences. The one that left the worst taste in his mouth though was a man who had come on really strong and took control early on during sex. Normally Raphael really likes it when his partners are assertive, since usually people tend to want him to do a lot of the work, so for a while he was really enjoying himself. After a while though it became clear that it was some sort of power play for the guy, that he was able to ‘control’ a big Qunari guy like him, and it really sucked the fun out of the whole thing. It also made him really wary of people who wanted to take charge right away.

If Raphael is going to have a wedding at all you can bet that it’s going to be a spectacle. If his partner lets him do all the planning it’s going to get really out of hand really quickly. Everyone in the area in invited and everyone is gonna know just how happy he is.
🏩 What was my muse’s first time like?
He wanted to impress but didn’t 100% know what to do, so it just sort of ended up being a spectacular failure. Luckily the person he was with was understanding, and the next time was much better for both of them. Raphael learned the importance of good communication early.

Yes, and anyone dating him should expect a mountain of gifts and probably a massage.

Thomas' dad died when he was too small to really remember him, and his mother remarried when he was about eight years old. For the first few years he really gave his step father a hard time, up until about thirteen or fourteen years old. His step father was just a really different person from him or his mother and he didn't both much to try and understand where he was coming from since he was a kid. He was also just sort of generally angry about not being able to know his dad with his step dad being the easiest target. Eventually though they developed a great and very close relationship. Whenever Thomas thinks about his life at that time he ends up feeling guilty for being so shitty to him.
Do they suffer from any emotional issues like depression or anxiety?
No, but he does tend to overthink and get caught up in his own head.
Have they ever been in love?
Yes, he is right now! Other than Arran though he has been in love before, most notably his college girlfriend Gwen. They only really broke up because they moved to different ends of the country and they're still friends to this day. He even flew over to the west coast to attend her wedding.
What does ‘love’ mean to them?
Love means partnership. Standing by each other and supporting each other and enjoying whatever time together you have. You make the choice to love the other person every day, no matter how easy or hard they make it (Something his step dad told him as a teenager that really stuck with him).
How are they at expressing emotions to others? Do they wear their heart on their sleeve, or try to hide their emotions?
He mostly wears his heart on his sleeve, but he tries to be cool about him. People generally know how Thomas feels about them, good or bad, but he works to try and keep from smothering people especially when he likes them a lot. He's gotta keep up that chill vibe.
When was the last time they cried? Why?The last time Thomas cried was when her and Arran watched Titanic together one Friday night. That movies always gets him (and Arran will always tease him about it).
When was the last time they laughed? Why?
I'm pretty sure Thomas laughs just about everyday. He was probably talking with a friend reminiscing about things they did when they were younger or joking around with Arran or playing with one of his nieces and nephews.
Have they ever had their heart broken? What happened?
His heart was definitely broken when his mother died. She'd been ill for a bit, but it was still sudden and he wasn't in town when it happened. It hit him really hard and it took him a long time to bounce back.
This is something I’ve had sitting in my writing doc with @villnis‘ character Arran and Thomas the boyfriend I made for him for a real long time. I think it was maybe in response to a meme, but at this point I can’t remember. Anyway I figured it was past time I finished it. :)

"I already made the appointment, it's at two. You have to get up."
"No, I'm fine." Thomas pulled the comforter over his head. Arran could hear muffled coughing coming from underneath. He sighed and shook his head, nudging the huge lump underneath that was his boyfriend.
It had been like this for days, Thomas was coughing and feverish and miserable but he refused to go to the doctor. Every time Arran suggested it Thomas just insisted that he'd be fine and didn't have time. There was a deadline coming up and he didn't have his piece ready yet. Arran would argue that he was spending way more time in bed than at the keyboard, but Thomas wouldn't hear a word of it.
After another few minutes of gentle nudging Arran looked at the clock. 12:46. He leaned down and took the comforter in both hands. "I didn't want to have to do this, but if you don't get going soon we'll miss your appointment."
Quickly, before Thomas had time to react, Arran pulled the blanket off of him. When Thomas turned to try and protest Arran ignored him, instead reaching down and lifting Thomas off the bed. Instinctively Thomas put his arm around Arran's neck, surprised to be so suddenly lifted off the bed. Heat was radiating off him, and Arran was surprised that he could stand to under that huge blanket.
"Was that really necessary?" Thomas asked before turning his head and coughing for a full thirty seconds. When he was finished it was like all the energy had been drained out of him and all he could do was rest his head on Arran's shoulder.
Arran smiled and kissed Thomas' forehead, trying very hard to ignore the layer of sweat covering him. "That answer your question? Now are you ready to cooperate or do I need to change your clothes for you too?"
I decided I wanted to make a boyfriend for @asexualelves‘ OC Arran and it got out of hand almost immediately and I became incredibly invested. And what do I do when I get really invested in new OCs? Make a big ol’ laundry list of character traits and random bits of their history
And so I present, Thomas Lavery (I’ll cut it off with a read more)
A professional musician, and an expert pianist
Wanted to be a concert pianist when he was younger, his mother had played in professional orchestras for a couple years before she became a high school band teacher
Spent his early twenties doing whatever shitty job he could get playing the piano, then when he was 27 he got a shot to write a jingle for an ad, leading to more working doing that.
At 32 got an opportunity to write a song for a kids show, which opened a whole new set of doors for him
Picked up smoking in his twenties because his friends were doing it (What else was he supposed to do when they all went out for a smoke at the same time?), then ends up spending a good chunk of his thirties trying to quit
Is a libra, birthday September 28th
Is 6′3″ and a total gentle giant
Has dark wavy hair, wears it in a bun
Is the guy all his friends call to help them move because he always says yes
Hooks his friends who are still struggling up with auditions and contact info when he makes some connections
Doesn’t exercise enough and has love handles
Is pleasantly surprised by how much he loves composing for ads and tv and other things. He just loves being surrounded by music
Is a completely music nerd but totally unpretentious about it, he likes a little bit of everything
His apartment is usually pretty clean... except for his piano/keyboard and workstation which is littered with pens and half filled sheet music and a thousand empty mugs
He’ll buy any CD that has his work on it which means he’s got quite a few CDs of kids music in his car
He likes to be clean shaven but when he gets deep into writing a piece or has multiple projects at once he’ll forget to shake and get stubble
Probably tried to have a full beard like once but it was the worst and everyone hated it
Once he starts hitting his stride with composing he’ll still play at the tiny bars and clubs he used to when he was younger a couple times a month, it’s much more enjoyable now that it isn’t his only source of income
Bi as hell, has a little bit of a weird relationship with it since he pieced it together late

His dad died when he was young and his mom remarried when he was in elementary school. He and his step dad are very different people but they love each other a lot
His step dad adopted him when he was in middle school, though Tom had just been calling him dad for a while before then

Met Arran for the first time in New Orleans at Mardi Gras where they talked, flirted, and made out. Except Thomas was pretty tipsy and had just gotten broken up with so they just parted ways. They don’t meet again for a couple years
