A collage of tonite's amazingly dynamic and engagingly provocative performance in motion at Nasher Museum featuring Thomas F. DeFrantz and Slippage, a response to Kara Walker's print installation exhibit. #dance #choreography #blackculturematters #thomasfdefrantz #nashermuseum (at Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University)
See you at 4pm at @studiomuseum for #Dapline!, a modern dance performance by choreographer André Zachery (@amzrpg) and visual artist LaMont Hamilton (@lamonthamilton) 👊🏾🙌🏾✊🏾Dapline! re-examines the “dap,” a ritual handshake affirming dignity and pride amongst African-American men that was popularized during a period of racial unrest in the 1960s. Beginning in the Museum's Atrium, a group of performers will enact a series of gallery-inspired movements, sounds and visuals, as the dap weaves throughout the Museum, culminating in a performance and artist talk in the Theatre. Special guests include sound artist #JeremyToussaintBaptiste, vocal artist #Yaw, performance artist #YonTandé (Whitney V. Hunter) and Professor #ThomasFDeFrantz! 👉🏾❤️👈🏾 (at The Studio Museum in Harlem)
