Warnings: Anxious thoughts and two small moments of Remus' murderous thoughts
Notes: I was requested to write this by @raidahblossom on my main blog called min-violet. Enjoy!
Thomas looked carefully at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes gazed on what he was wearing and his mind questioned him if it was a good outfit for the occasion. "What if he doesn't like it? What if it's too cold? What if he thinks I look awful in it?" Thomas mumbled out as he touched the fabric of the skirt he was wearing. Thomas sighed as he shut his eyes for a moment to calm down from those thoughts. For you see, Thomas was getting ready for a date night with his long-time boyfriend Deceit. And that in itself wouldn't make him nervous but, the outfit he decided to wear made him nervous.
Thomas had decided to wear one of the many crop tops he had bought a few days earlier. He decided to wear a red sweater crop top with a black skirt along with white stockings and black Converse shoes. This was the first time he decided to wear something like this in front of anyone. He usually wore this at home but now, he was scared of the thought of Deceit being disgusted by him for wearing such a thing. Thomas knew he needed the opinion of someone or rather the opinions of people he knew about this.
Thomas opened his eyes and let out a deep breath before leaving his bedroom and closing the door behind him. He walked toward his spot in the middle of his living room and silently prepared himself for his Sides' opinions. "Uh, guys, I kinda need your help...except for Deceit that is," Thomas mumbled, shutting one of his eyes tightly. Soon enough, all of his Sides except for Deceit popped up and the room was met with silence. "Uh...as you know I have a date with Deceit tonight and I wanted to ask what you think of the outfit," Thomas explained, looking away from his Sides' stares.
"Awwwww! Kiddo! You look so amazing and adorable! And ah! You just look so cute!" Patton exclaimed loudly. Thomas was startled and a little flustered by Patton's words, but he smiled nonetheless. "Thank you, Pat," Thomas mumbled out. "Agreed, I am not sure what you are so worried about, Thomas. You look, uh, adorable for your date with Deceit as Patton has stated." Logan complimented with a small smile on his face. "Gosh, you two are too much," Thomas replied, playing with the fabric of his skirt again.
"Honestly, Thomas. Slay that crop top and skirt, slay it, okay?! You look so majestic and cute in it! If Deceit hates it then, what's wrong with him." Roman spoke, quickly. "Understood, Princy!" Thomas responded with a small salute before giggling softly. "Same with my bro over here if Deceit says "I hate it" to this adorable outfit of yours then...well, I wouldn't mind making a small incision in his head so he won't be closed-minded anymore," Remus explained as he summoned a scalpel in his hand. "Uh, thank you, Remus. I appreciate the offer but I don't think that would be necessary…" Thomas replied, nervously.
Now, he has two reasons for him to hope that Deceit will like his outfit of choice. Yet, while he was still thankful for the compliments and opinions, he continued to be scared of what Deceit will think. Maybe he doesn't like boys in skirts! Or perhaps Deceit will force himself to compliment Thomas just so he won't upset him! Then afterward, Deceit is consciously talking bad about Thomas behind his back, wishing for Thomas to be normal and not wear skirts! "Thomas, jeez, calm down!" Virgil exclaimed which made Thomas pop out of that headspace.
"Let me guess, Thomas is scared that Deceit will hate him for wearing something outside of society's standards?" Logan spoke as he looked up at Virgil. "Yeah, pretty much," Virgil replied, nodding slowly. "Even though he knows that Deceit practically hates the modern-day society, government, and other stuff like that," Virgil added. "Well, 'hate' is a strong word and I just needed to hear society's standards. Deceit merely dislikes these things and wishes for them to change. But that's beside the point, Deceit will not hate you for what you like to wear." Logan explained, reassuringly.
"Because if he did, I still say I make the incision," Remus mumbled. "Are you sure? I mean, I know we're dating and all but he's still not afraid to share his opinions. And I'm scared that he, well-I'm just scared of how he'll think of this." Thomas explained. How could he explain these feelings? These fears? "Thomas, listen. You and Deceit have been going out for a long time. So far, your relationship with him is healthy, romantic, and happy. Deceit won't care about what you are wearing, I'm sure he'll just care if you arrive at the date night or not." Logan explains with a reassuring smile.
"You make a good point. Thank you, Logan." Thomas replied, smiling back as he let go of his skirt. "Alright, move it or else Deceit will start to question if you're late or you just didn't want to arrive at all!" Virgil exclaimed as he motioned Thomas to hurry up. "Okay! Okay!" Thomas responded as he walked toward a dark corner. He deeply sighed one last time before he closed his eyes and walked through the dark corner. Before he knew it, Thomas had arrived in the Dark Side realm.
Thomas slowly walked to Deceit's room, once he arrived at the door, he hesitated to knock on it. Yet, he knew this date night was special to him and he wasn't gonna let some fear of the outfit being harshly judged get to him. "You can do this, Thomas." He mumbled to himself before knocking on the door two times. "Thomas, is that you? Give me a minute, my angel." Deceit replied from the other side of the door. Thomas nodded to himself and waited patiently while Deceit got ready. After all, he could take this time to mentally and emotionally prepare himself, in case of any heartbreak. "No! Don't think that way!" Thomas scolded himself while shaking his head quickly.
Thomas heard the door unlock and open, he started to panic on the inside once again. "Hello, Deceit!" Thomas exclaimed, nervously. "Hello, my dear-" Deceit was cut short once he noticed Thomas. "I...uh...are you ready? For the date night, I mean?" Thomas asked, noticing Deceit was staring. "Is that good or bad staring?" Thomas mumbled repeatedly as he entered Deceit's room. "Thomas...I didn't expect you to wear that…" Deceit spoke. "I know, I just wanted to try something new. And I actually like this." Thomas explained, once again touching the ends of his skirt.
"Did you expect me to wear a leather jacket, shirt, ripped pants, and boots like what you are wearing?" Thomas asked, not daring to look behind him. He was scared that Deceit was making a face of disgust or some emotion similar to that. "No…" Deceit mumbled, almost breathlessly. Thomas was a little stunned at that so he slowly turned around only to notice that Deceit was blushing madly with his eyes slightly widened. "Do you not like it?" Thomas asked, fully facing Deceit. "I don't like it." Deceit replied. Thomas sighed softly, he knew it.
"I actually love it, I think you look absolutely stunning. It suits you." Deceit added, smiling like a dork. "Is that the truth?" Thomas asked, blushing at the words. "No lie, I promise, my little angel." Deceit replied, walking toward Thomas and pulling him close to his chest. "Oh, well, thank you, De! And can I just say that you look handsome in your attire." Thomas exclaimed, smiling as he looked up at Deceit. "That's good to hear anyway, shall we get going?" Deceit asked, pointing toward the door. Thomas was about to nod until he realized that people might stare at him in disgust.
Deceit was one thing, but what if random people begin to judge him? Will Deceit be embarrassed to call him "his boyfriend"? Deceit seemed to notice since he said something to get Thomas out of that headspace he was in. "If you are scared that people will stare at you, don't worry, my dear. I'll punch them in the face whether they judge or flirt with you." Deceit reassured as he looked down at Thomas and put his arm around his Host's shoulders. "How did you know I was thinking that?" Thomas asked. "I'm your Side plus, I know you would be anxious wearing that and I wouldn't want people staring at you in THAT way when you're mine." Deceit explained, opening his bedroom door.
"Aw, Deceit, you are so thoughtful," Thomas replied, smiling and giggling. "And you are adorable, especially in your clothing. Shall we?" Deceit replied. "We shall," Thomas replied, giggling in between his words as he passed through the door. "I love you, Deceit!" Thomas exclaimed. Deceit softly smiled at his boyfriend and closed the door behind him. "I love you as well, Thomas. Now, let's go, our date night is beginning and time flies fast." Deceit spoke, taking Thomas by the hand. Thomas could only smile and giggle at how boyfriend-like and flustered Deceit was.
