wordvomit very self indulgent thomspr prompt
A college au whereas per usual, Thomas is known as the nonchalant vice-president of the student organization in their faculty. In a way, he’s part of the faculty’s biggest mysteries; nice enough to be acquainted with everyone, but constantly put most people at an arm’s length. Barely anything phases him, from the curriculum, public speeches, to sudden love confessions in the middle of the cafeteria; he will have that indifferent smile plastered on his face, the one that is barely readable.
And then there’s Micro, their resident boyfailure. He’s funny, constantly messes up, and has a side-job as a drug dealer. He’s at least three different archetypes fit into one person. Despite his monotonous tone, it’s very easy to get a reaction out of the guy, both small and big ones (which surprises a lot of people). Micro’s welcoming personality had made him a rather famous guy in their faculty even when he barely joined any organizations or communities; people are comfortable with him and that’s a fact.
There hasn’t been a single reason for Micro and Thomas to interact; they have different friend groups, different schedules, and sat on the opposite end of the classroom when they share a rare class together (Thomas often times chose to sit on the front, Micro unsurprisingly at the back). The most they’d do to acknowledge each other’s existence is through polite nods and simple greetings when entering the room.
When Banana had jokingly dared Micro to use a horrible pick up line on someone, Micro didn’t think much of it. When the only person passing through the hallway is Thomas, followed by Flux and Snowbird, Micro didn’t think much of it. When Micro had stopped the brunette in his tracks, leaning one hand on the wall, doing a bad wink, and muttering “are you Freddy? Because I’d love to spend five nights with you”, Micro didn’t think much of it.
(The interaction should’ve ended there. Thomas was supposed to give Micro that same smile he gave everyone else, or worst case scenario; awkwardly nods before leaving. Thomas wasn’t a stranger to people coming up to him for attention, and Micro was sure this would just be another day for him)
Micro did however, think about how Thomas practically froze on his feet, eyes going wide and lips parted. A bit of an overreaction for Thomas’ standards, if Micro had to say so himself. Maybe the guy wasn’t feeling well, or perhaps the FNAF joke is part of the few topics that crossed the brunette’s boundaries. Either way, Micro also froze from sheer awkwardness, ready to shoot himself if this silence goes on even further.
But then Thomas turned red.
Everything else that happened afterwards was a blur. Micro could only recall the way their resident so-called nonchalant man could only utter out a few incomprehensible words before giving up and practically running away. Following after him is his two friends who both looked like they were holding back their laughter.
Now Micro is left alone with his own thoughts, and dear god he can’t stop thinking about it—about Thomas.
(“I can’t believe it,” Snowbird wheezes between laughter, “first actual conversation with your crush and you fucking ran away!”
Thomas, face burning, wished that the ground would swallow him up right at that moment. There are very few people who have seen him at this state, where he had lost all capability to think logically and compartmentalize all his thoughts and worries. It’s difficult to make Thomas react, to the point where his friends had made a game out of who can make him crack that unreadable expression the most.
The winner will always be Micro, not that the latter would know—up until today of course.)
Or, when the most put-together man you know is crushing on the resident boyfailure
