I saw someone else draw the quad as a Bunch of Friends thumbnail and realized that was genius and fit so well so I present to you: Blind, deaf, mute, stuck in the facility baking challenge: IPod Quad edition.
today, i woke up from my nap thinking about decayed and decrepit. classic chy i would say. it began with something rhetorical: ādo you ever think about how mike eventually thought that going to paradise city was a suicide mission, and thus why he went?ā
(a.k.a more headcanons and a lot more rambling) (words already spoken by other ppl, probably, but Fuck It)
i think thereās something so awful in a) michael sr purposefully set mike up on a suicide mission as a way of getting rid of him permanently and b) mike knowing this and still going as his means of proving something. he hates his father as much as he hates craving his attention and love despite having never received it, and he had this foolish, passing thought that āif [i] make it out of here alive, he will finally acknowledge [me]ā. but what merit does michael sr.ās opinion hold over his life when heās been nothing to him all throughout it? when he was like an outline of a future mike couldāve had that he probably wouldnāt have wanted when heād finally got it?
i know mike presents to be laidback and acts like a stereotypical jock, but heās shown to deconstruct that very identity in his final moments and beyond. he brings himself downāhe discounts his intelligence and he acts like someone who peaked in highschoolābut itās all, obviously, just a singular facet. it shows that as much as he is more than his guilt, he is also more than the rich quarterback son of a billionaire (on a side-note: i really love microās portrayal of mike. itās not often i find myself liking mikeās certain character archetype but dude itās been like 2? months and iām still haunted by him ever so often. microghostyt we yes WE need you in more roleplay series).
and because iām no one if not the philippinesā #1 quad glazer, i just have to say that my rhetorical was shortly followed by certain other thoughts.
like how meagon was probably a light in mikeās life and the first person to make him feel like his life is wanted after a long time of stewing in his own guilt. or how grayleigh turning up made him feel selfish for craving a semblance of normalcy in his fucked up life when pete couldnāt. and even more, how heāll damn anyone to save rotation because he stopped being just rotation at some point.
mike really wasnāt a collage of the love heās received throughout his life. iād reckon that while he had the best time in uni, he was still chasing that one gratification he feels like he couldnāt go without even when he hadnāt felt it at all (cue hamilton reference, he will never be satisfied etc) (ā meagon angelica schuyler in schamilton reference?!) (this truly was our m&m duo) and because of that, heās missed out on a lot of love. it made me think of the defunct future he and grayleigh couldāve had if only they managed to tell each other before paradise city ever happened to them. it made me think that, in spite of the general absence of this widespread love, being with the quad probably reminded him of the good he had.
happy fathers day to the older brothers who acted like a parental figure to their younger brothers more than their actual parents (saps saparata theria of famous feathersiblings)

I love it when people make it so that Micro and Saps banter a lot, because, well, they do seem like the type to do so !! and honestly, Saps does give a playful older sibling vibe. however I will always love it further when Saps is written anyway to be overprotective, and to the extent that he's arguably more protective than Jophiel.
Saps to me is a character that cares about his loved ones so much that he's willing to betray a thousand people for them, and when it comes to family, there will be no doubt or hesitation. He is a character that's always been the type to be to be teaseful, merely because he values getting a smile out of his siblings that don't seem to flash a smile everyday. He is a character that I believe acts more than the term "older brother," but considering him as "parental" erases the sibling bond he has with Micro and Snowbird in particular. And I think the reason why it's so important for me to specify that they have a "sibling bond" rather than a "father-son bond" is because it can emphasize how much Saps values Micro and how much Micro trusts Sapsāthat they're just siblings, but their care for one another goes past of a parental one.
although I typically enjoy and adore any sort of meatmaster duo dynamic, there is just something that intrigues me whenever they have the strongest bond in the quartet. There is something about their relation that draws me in whenever they seem to be a sort of duo that can't be anything along the lines of "strained." Out of all the people in the feathersiblings, I believe Micro is the closest with Saps. There's something about him that prompts Micro to confide in himāsomething in the like that they're so similar, and therefore it's easier to rely on him than it is to rely on Jophiel or Snowbird.
beyond that, I do hope for more people to delve into the sweeter part of Micro and Saps' sibling bondāthe one where they aren't just a sort of comedic relief, and that their care for one another is seen so clearly in the way they were written. :') I love the meatmasters sibling duo but I love it more when they're written with a specific kind of depth; in the way that Saps carries big brother instincts over Micro, because, honestly, Saps is the big brother to ever exist š„ŗš„ŗš oh saps saparata never stop being the older brother that bullies his own siblings but when they show the slightest hint of being upset he drops everything and forcefully shatters his own bravado. or that sibling that will always make fun of his younger siblings but when other people do it he immediately starts throwing hands.
p.s. no need to read all the tags but I'll put this here too just incase ~ also "looking down on" is a better term to use compared to "undermining" but blllehhh I already put the tag and I can't edit it huhuu.
I think the fear of a "wrong" dynamic, "wrong" interpretation, and the possibility of just being ooc is something so apparent in the state fandom when it's not really meant to be that way because most of the fandom is actually built on the creative imagination of it's fans. but like. that's for another post lol. I'm itching so bad to make a post about it with every single talk abt it on twt.
anyway like I said don't take my characterization posts super duper seriously. when I say "I like a but I prefer b" it doesn't mean I hate a š„ŗ i just want to talk about my interpretations too okie....
