i'm so glad i'm not the only one still moved by thorin :'(

a few days ago i watched the dos intro to look for something to gif and i had to pause and Compose Myself after every thorin shot because i freaked out every time he was on screen. i doubt i’ll ever be chill about thorin tbh so you’ll never be alone in it <3

he should have lived. pj should have changed the fucking ending, he had the power to do it. thorin should have been allowed to rebuild erebor and bring his people! home!!!!!!!!! like he’s wanted to for!! forever!!!!!!!!!!!! and give them all a new life and rebuild his family’s kingdom and legacy!!!! he should have been able to see erebor restored!!!!!!!! helped do it and felt the pride of succeeding and providng this for his people!!!!!!!!! he should have had the chance to h e a l and find peace with what’s happened and move beyond that and do and experience so many good things!!!!!!!! he should be hAPPY AND VERY NOT DEAD SALDFKJSLDKFJASEOIF TBH WILL I EVER BE OKAY???????? feel so insecure for liking thorin so much ;_; am i a dumb naive fangirl if i think he's a good person? i know many people think so and i'm afraid to talk about him under my name now.

aldkjfaslkj no anon you’re not dumb at all for liking thorin! i wish i could hug you omg there’s nothing wrong with thinking he’s a good person because he is. the people that try to perpetuate the idea that he’s not either haven’t watched the movies very closely or did so with a strong bias/misinterpretation (i.e. soft quiet meek bilbo, and i’ve even seen some weird fili bias stuff in my time). or they’re just rude bitter trolls. either way they’re wrong. and i’m sorry they have you scared like that D: that’s honestly so shitty i’m very >:cccccc

my first thought is to direct you to @avelera’s blog for her thorin meta, because all of it is very thoroughly discussed and well written and is excellent affirmation that thorin is good and not...whatever the garbage trolls are saying about him. i don’t have any specific posts to recommend atm but her general meta tag and thorin meta tag should be good places to go :D (if you want to see the newest posts first take off the /chrono from the urls i just tend to prefer using that when going through tags)

here are some scenes that i think remembering/watching will make you feel better about your opinion of thorin:

when thorin is talking to balin in bag end after bilbo walks away from gandalf. his face is so soft!!!!! his smile!!! he looks so nice. i want to hug him too.

and then when balin’s talking about azanulbizar thorin doesn’t look all proud and braggy about it. no he looks sad because he lost people he cared about and probably doesn’t like thinking about or remembering the battle!! like when people say he’s arrogant i just ???????????

the deleted barrel scene. because we always need that in our lives.

okay i’m sorry to bring it up but when thorin’s dying. and all he’s thinking about is bilbo going to his home and being happy. and thinking about bilbo being happy is making thorin happy as he’s d y i ng. and his expression like what. the fuck

i'm the anon who sent you the ask about thorin like a week ago your skype invite is too kind!! i might someday when i get the courage to talk to people. i'm sad bc the thorin tag is pretty much dead and there's been some rude posts in it : ( most people hate the movies and hate thorin so the fandom dying makes me sad. i'll always think thorin is good and deserved to live *sob*

for skype, even if you're not sure about talking to people you could still just be in the groups and listen/watch - that’s what i do for the most part ^^ (yes, me with the giant screaming rambling tags doesn’t usually talk all that much) no pressure of course! but just so you know :) it sounds like you could use some positivity and everyone in the groups i’m in are super nice! it’s a great fandom c:

and wtf why are people putting rude posts in the tag >:(((((( they are rude dumb dumbs. i don’t go in tags much but! now that i know this about the thorin tag i’ll tell you what. i should be able to get my main giffing computer back in the next few days, and i’ll start making thorin gifs again to get Good Things in the tag. and if i have thorin thoughts maybe i’ll post them instead of keeping them to myself like i normally do ^^/

and i can assure you that there are still people around that love the movies! in fact my friend @andalusa is hoping to get some hobbit movie nights going in the near future, so maybe watch her blog for info on those! you could come watch with us even if you don’t want to talk quite yet :)

to make you feel better! happy thorin things :D because you’re right, he’s so good and wonderful and is totally alive what are you talking about D E N I A L my son. imagine thorin with animals! thorin would definitely be an animal person. imagine him helping to take care of the ravens back in erebor when he was little! and the ravens liking him more than anyone else and being grumpy when thorin’s busy with lessons and can’t come play with them. and modern au!thorin with a pet (or pets!!!!) and how much he’d love taking care of them! them being a part of his family! thorin having a big family!! and being so happy because having lots of people he cares about makes him happy!!!!!!!!

the fandom's basically dead but i still have thorin feels help

the fandom’s smaller than it was before, but it’s definitely not dead! some of us aren’t going anywhere, even if content creation has slowed down a bit :)

as for the feels, feel free to drop them in my inbox any time if you want! i’m always down for sharing in and discussing the feels :D OR i have a thorin group on skype where we literally just yell about thorin in caps lock when we get feels, if you’re comfortable with sending me your skype i can add you and we can help your feels and share in them ^o^/ and there are a bunch of other hobbit fandom chats that are skype based where you can talk to other fandom people if you’re interested! (this invite is extended to everyone btw!)

and if you were looking for something to make your feels worse i can help with that too~~~ were you thinking about how Smol and Soft thorin is? how fondly he would have looked at fili and kili like All The Time when they were growing up? HOW FONDLY HE WOULD LOOK AT FRODO IN A PARENTSHIELD AU AND HOW MUCH HE WOULD LOVE AND CARE FOR HIS HOBBIT SON? how much he cares for everyone like wow???? so selflessly?? like he does everything so fucking selflessly and expects???? nothing????????????? in return??????? he just wants to do good for his people???? because he’s so good???????????????????????
