The knock on the door came unexpectedly. The nurse had just scrambled to her feet from barely 4 hours of sleep after a taxing 12h hour shift. Which no one could know in all fairness, but it still prompted a more than annoyed huff as she scuffled to the door, but not without stopping on the way to slick back her curly hair – as if that was possible, but at least it was out of her face – and rubbing her tired eyes. Izzie froze. Damn it, with that breath, she couldn’t answer the door. She grabbed a mint from one of the purses dangling on her coatrack, and a loose old cardigan to wrap around herself, and – another knock rapped on the door. “Madonna mia, I’m coming!” Shaky hands unlocked the door and slightly opened it to find a young man standing out there but her half-lidded eyes didn’t fully grasp him yet.
A yawn. “Si?”

thosedirtygrifters asked: "Ooh, look at those strong arms.. big strong arms for a big strong Scot" Asher growled to finish his little performance off - the little cherry on top -- Then dashed for the other side of the room.
Come and hit on my muse. Do it. I dare you: ACCEPTING
Richard’s face was petrified in pure horror as Asher’s words purred against his ear. Just when he thought it couldn’t get any worse, Richard caught wind of that little growl at the end of Asher’s... well... Whatever the hell that was.
“Oi! Yer’ not gettin’ off tha’ easily!” Without another word, Richard grabbed a nearby pillow from the sofa and dashed after Asher as fast as he could. “Ye’ like these strong arms so much? Well, why don’t ye’ get a taste of wha’ these strong arms can do, eh?” he exclaimed before hurling the pillow directly at Asher’s face before lunging at him and trapping him into a headlock.
"How Tall?"

an Althea starter for Ewan at @thosedirtygrifters
Althea wouldn’t visit a pub alone. Drinks were only fun with company, but company you made while drinking by yourself didn’t have the best risk vs benefit ratio. If she was bound to make someone’s acquaintance, she’d much rather make it sober. Still, there was nothing wrong with a cosmopolitan with a friend. The night went quite fine, in fact, until said friend had to head home unexpectedly, leaving Althea at the bar to fend for herself.
Surprisingly enough, she was relatively well-off fending for herself, as she was already tipsy by the time an unwelcome male presence took a seat across from her, leaned on the bar like he owned it, and proceeded to objectify her. Instead of politely implying he should leave her alone as she normally would, Althea crossed her legs, got comfortable, and started a lecture on why this man was by no means a good flirt. It started, “You know, I’ll tell you why I do not enjoy your company, and other women probably don’t, either.” She had probably gotten five minutes into her monologue when the man dismissed her speech, invaded her personal space, and grabbed her arm.
Althea proceeded to pull back casually as though she weren’t even intimidated, which she was. But the part where he had interrupted -- words women would actually appreciate to be called by a stranger -- was too basic for her to end the conversation without finishing it. “You may know that women fall in love easier after sex,” she continued, ignoring his attempted intermissions, “but calling a woman you don’t know sexy is simply getting off on such a wrong foot that it’s probably a third foot. Women like to feel valuable, mister. Even when a woman knows she’s gorgeous, she wouldn’t appreciate being approached like a piece of coal. Diamonds come from coal, you know. You do know, right? You can have the same effect with your words if you just give them more time, more thought. A good pick-up line will come when you can craft your words into something less generic. Notice something about the woman you’re courting that you haven’t noticed in other women. Exploit that trait, make something out of it. You can’t just walk up to any diamond and call it carbon. You know what else is carbon? Coal is carbon. My brain is so fixated on coal right now, but it’s a good enough analogy to use more than once, don’t you think?” At his first attempt to change the subject, she snapped, "No, stop. Stop. You spoke to me first, and now you have to listen to me. Don't tune me out. I'm not done."
thosedirtygrifters asked: With petite, slim fingers tangling behind her back and eyes as round as a doe's, Selina stood at the familiar front door, waiting for it to be answered. Rumours had reached her that the man hadn't moved on, but she couldn't quite bring herself to believe in such hope until seeing it all herself. The only thing she prayed for more than Richard being her's again - was that he might just forgive her for leaving..
Selina. Selina was back in town. Selina, the woman Richard hadn’t seen in a year. Selina who marked the final memory in Richard’s mind as her back leaving the door. Selina... The love of his life.... That Selina was back in London. There Richard lay, tossing and turning in his bed, before eventually sitting up on the bed’s edge. Sweated palms pressed against his face before raking his fingers against his tousled hair. How the hell was he meant to sleep during a time like this? Now, Richard may not have had the number or address of where she was saying-- Of course, Seth wouldn’t give it to him, that would be too easy-- but damn did he want to talk to her. To see her again. He needed to know she was okay. He had to-- A hollow knock. Blue eyes glanced to his electronic clock sitting on his bedside table: 12:05 A.M.
“I’m comin’! Comin’!” Perhaps it was Seth, the Scotsman thought to himself as he trudged towards the door. Maybe he was coming by to finally give Richard directions to Selina’s new place, or her phone number. Suddenly, his heart stopped once he opened the door. No. It wasn’t Seth. Nor was it directions to Selina’s or her phone number. It was something... or rather, somebody, better... Much better. “S-...Selina?” Richard’s eyes rounded. His breath hitched somewhere in his throat as his heart skipped a beat. “Thank god...” Without waiting another second, he threw his arms over the brunette and cocooned her in a warm embrace. “I’m so happy to see ye’ again, love.”
Evenings like these were his addiction now. Along with the mornings. Relaxed, still and warm. After such a hearty meal, It would have been bloody perfect - a scene of biblical awe in Gideon's opinion - if it weren't for the silence... His Phee was never so silent. "Yer' gonna tell me what's wrong?" He grumbled, having dragged the courage to ask (praying he wasn't the problem) from deep in the pit of his stomach. "Phee?"
@thosedirtygrifters
It had even a tough day. Work was tough these days, it was just one of those days. Having made dinner and was facing a quiet evening with him at home, she didn’t realise he had even noticing her being quiet. When he asked her what was wrong, she just sat there for a minute before she moved to sit on his lap. One leg on each side and just buried her face in his neck “Just tired. It’s even a rough day.” All she wanted was for him to just hug her, and it would all go away. It always did.
