Day 31: Mafia AU
How about I just write a damn fic? Because I already am…
Two Halves Of The Law | A Danplan Mafia AU
Summary:
Hosuh, a run-of-the-mill cop, has never strayed from the path of the law. Nothing eventful has ever happened in his otherwise principled and periodic life. That was until a case came into his peripheral, a murder of a beheaded woman. The detective assigned to it and his close childhood friend, Daniel, managed to convince him to investigate a certain street with him. It was there Hosuh happened upon a man down a murky alleyway. A man with violet hair and piercing dahlia purple eyes. A man who, coincidently, was none other than the head of a mafia, Stephen. Through striking a deal, the cop and detective agree to work with Stephen to find the killer and bring justice, all as long the mafia remain secret. And so, hijinks ensue as Hosuh is sucked into the world crime as he uncovers the truth of the “justice” he seeks. Through cartels, a rival mafia, lots of lies, dirty desires and even more murder, who could this mastermind be?
(wow compelling summary.)
Yep, I’m already working on this fic No promises on when I’m finishing the first chapter but who knows? Wish me and my mental stability good luck
Visual references for chapter 7
As always, all pictures are taken from Pinterest and they are NOT meant to look exactly like the things I described in the scenes. The visual references are simply used to give you guys the overall vibes. You are free to imagine the scenes as you please 💜
I'm doing something a bit different this time by using moodboards. I'm actually really happy with how they turned out.
Hi, loves!
I have some really wonderful news! I’m finally writing again! and I’m honestly a bit emotional about it.
I’ve been in a really difficult place mentally, and because of that I was dealing with a pretty awful writer’s block. But it finally lifted. I can work on chapter 7 again, the ideas are flowing, and the scenes are showing up in my brain like they used to.
I also want to apologize for the huge delay with chapter 7. I promise there wasn’t a single day I didn’t think about this story. I’m just really happy to finally be able to work on it again.
Thank you so much for your patience, and for the insane support and kind messages. They truly mean more to me than I can put into words.
I’m forever grateful.
I’ll make this chapter extra long and extra special for you guys.
I hope you enjoy it 💛
Any ideas on when chapter 8 will drop? I already can‘t wait!
Hi, love!
Life’s been pretty hectic lately, and I still haven’t really had the time to properly sit down and finish it. It's around 55% done.
But, chapter 8 will definitely be posted this month! ❤️
Btw, I’m also planning a special filler chapter that’ll dive into how Lando became Max’s hearthmate. ;)
give me like... 30 minutes.
How I feel coming in here to announce it to you guys that CHAPTER 7 IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!!
hiii, what inspired you to write “the hour of the lion”?
Hi, lovely! 💛
This question actually made me realize I should probably talk about THOTL around here, huh?
I’ve always been really into historical societies. Like, borderline obsessed. We tend to get a lot wrong about the past, and I’ve always loved digging into what life was actually like back then. How people lived, loved, believed, survived, etc.
I also have a very vivid imagination and a bad habit of letting my hyperfixations crash into each other.
So, one thing led to another, and suddenly I was imagining lestappen in a viking-ish setting… and once that idea got stuck in my head, I knew I had to write it.
From there, the world pretty naturally became omegaverse. Not just because it fit the vibe, but because it let me play with themes I’ve been interested in forever.
I also knew right away that I didn’t want to write an omegaverse where everything is already fixed and unquestioned. A lot of omegaverse fics (especially in the F1 fandom) can be very rigid.
I wanted to push back against that a bit and build a world where those dynamics exist, sure, but aren’t set in stone.
I also have… way too many ideas. Like, an unreasonable amount. My brain never sticks to one setting for long. I’ve got millions of half-baked concepts sitting in my notes that range from medieval europe to ancient greece. I genuinely love exploring different cultures, belief systems, and ways of life.
There’s just something really fun about taking familiar characters and throwing them into worlds with totally different social rules.
Building lore, imagining what people believe in, what they fear, how they act… that’s honestly my favorite part of writing.
