You know, something I kind of miss from Renji’s later fights in canon is how vicious Zabimaru’s shikai form actually is.

Like, in his earlier fights (but ESPECIALLY his fight vs. Ichigo in the Soul Society), we get to see how brutal Zabimaru can be - how its prongs stab into his opponent, how it just completely shreds through Ichigo’s shoulder, how it extends with such force that even when blocked, it ends up throwing him into a building. It’s terrifying! And I kinda get why that gets downplayed later on for a number of reasons (mainly: he gets Bankai), but I kinda liked how Renji’s shikai was kinda scary.

What are your thoughts on book covers that put the actors from the tv/movie versions on the cover? Especially what the characters on the cover are not what’s in the book version? (Like, the Bridgerton show has diverse leads which I assume is very much not what they’re getting in the books).

I don't really like them that much -- usually the original artwork looks better than whatever terrible photo they're using for the movie cover.

The Bridgerton example is kind of funny though, because I did buy the TV cover of Romancing Mister Bridgerton, however, because I'd rather look at Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton instead of the faceless nobodies of the standard cover or the original which is this ugly ass thing...
