Talking about social media etiquette was one of my favorite topics at the GEMS Symposium (Giving Everyone My Science). I really felt the reality that I’m moving into a space of being one of the early voices and thought contributors to the conversation of having decent ethics, healthy exchanges and positive social interactions in our new world of communication. When I got a validating nod from one of the elders it dawned on me what was happening. I’m a part of bringing tried and true principles and values into the modern social environment.
