— My Last Night in Vietnam —

Memorizing the corners and every familiar spots.

Embracing the thick, balmy air of a summer night.

Taking it all in one last time,

Until it all becomes just a memory

Of a place I once dreamed I'd be.

I’ve always felt disconnected from this society. That’s why I daydream. I’ll never truly fit anywhere and I’ll never relate to how current society works. I only connect with people in fragmented ways, never truly as a whole. Walking through masks and egos, we are trapped in conditioning that isn’t ours, which makes us feel even more disconnected. I do art to reject that feeling I can’t explain—the feeling of powerlessness over how I wish life could have been.

The most beautiful things in life cannot be forced.

Maybe when we die we get the power to control the universe.

Part of human experience is to let go of control and that's what makes it so painful and overwhelmingly beautiful at the same time.
