i want to redefine the term “problematic” as the continuation of harmful behavior as opposed to the one time incidents that are mostly likely the byproducts of the inherently racist/sexist/transphobic/ableist/etc society that we live in. educating yourself means unlearning really shitty mindsets that you probably didn’t realize was wrong until later and even then, people learn at different paces depending on environment. i think the term “problematic” is only valid if you are fully aware that what you’re contributing is destructive and prolonging out that on a conscious level.
