Last weekend was off to a poor start; my first #3dprinter broke down, customer support proved largely unhelpful, I spent nine hours driving to Moorpark only to be stood up, and it seemed none of those situations would be remedied. What was more, I crossed paths with the one person who's refusing to speak to me. But i chose to approach it all with kindness and positivity. The result? The Moorpark seller was deeply apologetic for his failure and appreciated the way I handled the inconvenience; he reduced the asking price of his printer to a fantastic deal and delivered it to me himself. After expressing interest in my projects, he asked to stay in contact once they become available for purchase. After a fun weekend with family and friends, the manufacturer provided crucial hardware and a software update to the original machine. The mechanical issue was tricky, but not so daunting that i couldn't solve it and fix it myself. Now instead of having zero functional printers, i have TWO. No need for warranty work or additional cost. The end balance? It was easier to stay happy and focused on achieving my goals than allow for people or negative circumstances overwhelm me. It's not a new lesson, but it's still a relevant one. Remaining calm, taking calculated risks, and being understanding goes a long way. I'm happy it all sorted out, and even more excited to start on the next challenge-- learning the advanced sculpting software!! #thoughtsworththinking
