one irrelevant thing that yesterday taught me is that I don’t want any of my shit going viral on this site ever again
leave me and my cm fanfic account alone lmao
I hate that post about that Shakespeare’s Globe production of Midsummer Night’s Dream that that person saw and then was like AHHH THE GLOBE IS SO GOOD GO SEE SHOWS AT THE GLOBE BECAUSE HERE’S A LIST OF COOL THINGS ABOUT THAT PRODUCTION and I hate it for A LOT of reasons
I saw that production.
I HATED that production
yeah it does all the cool things you mentioned but was also vaguely racist and culturally appropriative
it was three hours long
THREE HOURS LONG
NO PRODUCTION OF MIDSUMMERS SHOULD EVER BE THREE HOURS LONG
Puck makes out with a random audience member (consent issues)
The girl who played Puck also played Hermia’s father and played Hermia’s Father from a wheelchair which was???? confusing???
YEAH the production does all those things but it’s also doing 15 more things on top of that and it was WAY TOO MUCH
the production was literally all over the fuckign place it was so bad
STOP ADDING UNNECESSARY MUSICAL NUMBERS TO SHAKESPEARE IT HAS NEVER NOT BEEN ANNOYING JUST USE THE MUSIC THAT’S ALREADY IN IT
The woman who directed that production’s name is Emma Rice and she thinks Shakespeare is Boring and needs flashy effects to be even a little interesting
She’s basically to Shakespeare as JJ Abrams is to Star Trek
YEAH
that was the first thing she ever directed at the Globe and is no longer employed at the Globe so it’s NOT EVEN INDICATIVE of what’s been happening at the Globe!!!!!
esp. the Sound Effects and Lights and Flying Mechanisms and stuff, they used WAYYYYYY more of that kind of stuff than most productions use
while I was in London I saw a Perfect Production of Taming of the Shrew at the Globe that indicted the male characters so well and used an Irish Rebellion setting and rebellion songs from the time to emphasize Kat’s fighting spirit, and it was So Spare and So Incredibly Rich and it made me cry a LOT AND REALLY it just made the Worst Shakespeare Play soooooooo good and feminist and like WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS SHITTY PRODUCTION WHEN THAT PRODUCTION OF TAMING OF THE SHREW EXISTS
I love talking with neurotypical people about my executive dysfunction because I'm like "yeah there's this invisible wall in my head that I'm incapable of getting past no matter what I do and it stops me from doing things" and they're like what the actual fuck
Meanwhile other neurodivergents are like
cobtrary to popular belief, famous people do use tumble, such as
a variety of fantasy authors
former US Secretary of Labor Robert Reich
uhhhh
cookie clicker guy,
There's a bunch of adhd advice out there that's like "people with adhd tend to work better under deadlines due to the anxiety so here are ways to artificially induce a stress response in order to get you to get work done" and it's like well what if I don't want to be stressed out all the time in order to function
I bought a desktop laminator using money I got for my birthday and by god if this isn't the sexiest piece of office equipment I've ever had the pleasure of owning
