Beautifully and elaborately built with 1,000 intricately carved pillars, the Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal is one of the finest examples of Kakatiya art and architecture!

The pillars are so close-knit that they almost look like a wall around the temple. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historic temple, also known as Rudreswara Swamy Temple was built by Kakatiya king Rudra Dev in 1163 AD.

The temple structure resembles the shape of a star, and it took nearly 72 years to build this architectural marvel. Lord Shiva, Lord Surya, and Lord Vishnu are the presiding deities of this temple.
