Ataraxia is a heavy/thrash metal band from Kungshamn, Sweden. The idea of the band was formed when the guitarists Oscar Östman from Smögen and Abbe André from Trollhättan found each other on Facebook. As the spring of 2023 came to an end, Alfons Myrvold from Strömstad joined the band as bassist and vocalist. When summer came to an end, the lineup was complete with David Klys from Älvängen joining them on drums, which marked the beginning of Ataraxia.

On the 22nd of March, the band released their debut album "Torments of Reality", which aims to dissect the current situation in the world, in regard to wars, prejudice, and threats to democracy.
