Ben’s intention had not been to upset his girlfriend. In hindsight, it was obvious why she would upset and he didn’t know what exactly had come over him to result in him doing something so stupid. There was just something about Lilah that had completely overwhelmed him. Logically, it didn’t make any sense, especially considering that the last time he had written a song so sappy had been years ago, much less sang it publicly. After the Beauxbatons girl’s polite rejection, he was left with his mixed up feelings which seemed to miraculously fade the further Lilah walked away from him, and then the realization that he had probably just screwed up his relationship.
