it took jacen some time to figure out.. what he was feeling. his knowledge of the force is so limited, mostly self-taught based on his own research and some old training records he’d gotten his hands on. interpreting things through the force isn’t.. his forte, but after some work and concentration jacen had a pretty good idea what he was feeling.
he can’t be sure, though. it’s not a presence he’s ever actually felt before, but it’s.. familiar all the same. jacen can only think of one person it might belong to.
by the time he finds the man, jacen’s more than a little nervous. kanan jarrus is something of a legend in his mind. one of the few surviving jedi from the clone wars. the man who fought alongside his mother. who died protecting her - protecting them both, if he remembers correctly. the man jacen heard stories about his whole life.
kanan’s old lightsaber is in his hand. he’s not sure it even works anymore, truth be told - he’s never tried it, never trusted himself with it, but - it was his father’s, jacen couldn’t leave it behind when he left them all behind. his grip tightens on the hilt as he approaches - more to keep his hand from shaking than anything else. “i think this.. belongs to you,” jacen says as he approaches, holding the lightsaber out to kanan, “...father.”
