"The red thread of time"

The thread forms a sort of self-looping helix (with alternating diameters) - resembling a somewhat torus-like shape, and also the resulting shape looks like an egg.

Space is an interwoven thread, the thread is time. Time is one-dimensional. Space can have more than one dimension(s), usually, mainly because that time-thread has been knotted and woven onto/into itself. That is the mere simplistic reality of the spacetime continuum.
