thought you might want some company. @wildwests, rhett + jesse.
"...hm," is all jesse manages at first, brow quirked; standing uncomfortably in the entryway, arms folding against his chest, he takes rhett in, before his eyes cast around behind him, wondering idly if perry's going to come trailing in, too. it used to be that way: perry always a few steps behind, a little reluctant, following his little brother's lead. jesse's not certain exactly how much has changed in the years (god, it makes him shudder a little; how did he let so much time slip away?) since he's really been here in wabang—but rhett seems to be alone. it's not yet clear if this is something that should concern him.
his voice is slow and wary when he finally continues: "well." looking at rhett again, jesse steps to the side, allows room for his nephew to come inside. "y'know y'all are always welcome here." the words drawl slow but natural, accent reignited by his homecoming; it never fully left, but something about being home again has made him more cognizant of its sound. "...cecilia know you're here?" no mention of his father; royal's never been the one to concern him.
