"No one saved me. No nice men in tux appeared in front of me and took me away.

All I had were my feet, and my resolve.

I wasn't going to stay waiting..even if it killed me and by Ninjago did it try, it tried so many times I'm not even sure if what came out of that place is even the same person I used to be..

But I couldn't stop, not when my sister and my family were out there and I didn't know if they were suffering as much or even more than me.

All that kept me going, was you.

I just..forget it, you're right. Just take your money and leave. That's all this was about anyway."

At the sudden reaction he stood quickly, hovering around the Master as he gently patted his back with a worried expression. He really didn't time that correctly, but Kai didn't expect such a violent reaction to what the fire ninja considered a simple question.

The two had been hanging out a lot as of late, mostly at night no less which he didn't know if it was good for the perpetual insomniac.

"You good? Sheesh, good thing none of our enemies knew how easily they could have wiped you out with just that."

So he was right in his assumption, not that the young blonde was trying that hard to hide his true feelings. It was clear as day whenever she came by, the way his entire body language changed around her, how his eyes fixated in her every direction.

Was he really questioning it when it was that obvious?

"And have you asked her? Dude, she looks at you the same dumb way Robby stares at Wyldefyre. I've been around dumb faces for a long time, and I can tell she feels the same."

Eye sharpened at the threat, body tense as he set his full attention at the babbling lightning rod. You would think that after all this time, Jay would have learned to respect him once the first flakes of powdery white began to frost the blades of grass out on the training field.

Seemed this was a lesson he'd have to refresh him on.

As the ammo flew through the sky the ninja jumped, striking it with a spinning kick. Powder flew in every direction, erupting from the sudden force.

"Don't say I didn't warn ya!"

Using his shifting momentum the warrior spun, easily collecting three medium sized snow balls within his grasp. A single motion of a trained assassin, all three balls flying through the air as they hit the tea sign above Jay's head.

The vibrations causing the snow clinging to the wooden sign to cascade onto the other.

"Stay down Walker, stay down and I'll forgive your hubris."

"Right--right, because that long luscious hair and those peppery freckles are terribly menacing. The height too, I've never seen a gremlin look so scary.

Let me guess? The North Pole denied your job application?"

As always, the ice ninja knew exactly how to humble him. Not with a snarky remark or sarcastic reply, but with well crafted words and conversation. What was he supposed to say to the other when everything said was right? He should have spoken with Zane, gotten his side of the story before jumping to conclusions.

Cole found out by pure luck, unfortunate, but unavoidable once the prying fell upon their brown wearing potsticker loving ally.

Then his sister, but that had been dealt with already.

"I don't have an excuse, not even a good reason. I let my temper get the better of me, and at the time, I just felt humiliated.

I guess I wanted you to feel that way too, and it was wrong of me. All of this was wrong, you didn't deserve it."

Electric. As cliche as it sounded, there was no truer word than that to describe it.

Static dancing between tongues, pops of electricity tingling his lips as messy hands clung to the brunette's shirt. Pressed against a wall, hidden from the world and only living to breathe in the stuttery breaths given by his lover.

As Jay pulled away he can't help but whine, already dipping in for a second turn as soon as the question was spoken.

"What? Do I need a reason?" His lips trailed towards freckled shoulders, dipping into his neck as Kai blew a heated breath into the other's skin.

"You're just..addicting.."

The room spun around him, shifting directions and twirling him like a spinning top that ricochet from one direction to the next. His chest aches, and for the very first time in his life as the Master of Fire, heat didn't feel welcoming or comforting.

It was suffocating, breathing left his throat feeling as if he was exhaling flames and inhaling lava. He needed to move, to feel fresh air, anything that would cease this sudden torment.

Feet meeting the cold floor only encouraged his pursuit, pushing him further to a strain as Kai finally reached the door frame. Hand gripping to the wooden frame before the next set of quivering claimed his knees.

Caught just in time as his body succumbed to the heat, feeling himself drifting once more before that sultry voice revived his senses.

Instantly recognizing the wall that held him, forcing tired eyes to try and meet Cole's.

"It's..the room it's too hot.."

He should've seen it coming, been more observant to the way Cole had pulled away or barely reacted to their quips.

It was no secret that the Master of Earth had a sweet tooth that could crunch mountains if they were made of sugar. It was honestly one of the endearing things about the man that Kai had on his list of things he loved about him.

The way his face lit up in front of a sweets shop, how giddy he looked after biting into a cookie or licked frosting off of a plate.

Genuine joy at something so simple. He never meant to weaponize it.

"Hey, you've got nothing to apologize for okay? You're right to be upset, I shouldn't be making those kinds of jokes anymore.

Why didn't you tell me how you felt sooner? I thought it didn't mean anything. I never said any of them with malice.

Kind of like how Jay's always calling me dumb or whenever you say my ideas are bad y'know? I thought it was the same thing."
