they should be offering a map reading class [closed thread]
"The statue of the founder... again..."
Takane sighs and lowers the map for a second, trying to visualize her progress so far.
Her starting point were the girls' dorms, naturally. She immediately swerved torwards the co-ed dorms. She took an entirely different direction when she saw a bunch of menacing-looking students from afar. She walked past the building with the headmaster's office, passed the cafeteria and sat down on a bench to take a break. And then... then she decided to use this statue as a landmark, unique and eye-catching as it is.
That was were she went wrong.
The figure has somehow become a magnet instead. No matter what turn Takane takes - and she has taken a lot of them while trying to shake off a bunch of penetrant footsteps a few meters behind her - suddenly she's looking at it again, the proud sculpture tanning its patina in the spring sun, and she's ninety-nine percent sure that it only exists on this campus once.
Heading out to find all the classrooms on her schedule might've been a better idea if she had someone to take with her, an upperclassman or a teacher who knows their way around this labyrinth - sadly, and it's pathetic enough by itself, she hasn't gotten around to meet any of these people yet. Ones that didn't look like the typical high school bully, that is.
Takane isn't shy, but she's not careless enough to try bonding with people like that. And, admittedly, she lost a lot of communication skills over the years, besides the ones necessary for winning co-op matches with random players in Ready 4 Death.
As she raises the map to her face again, she hears a stifled sneeze, and her patience drops to critical levels. She's still being followed around.
