❝ Excuse me? I had a complaint for a irritatingly short woman that checked me in to the club today. She was shockingly tall, brunette, and had the biggest mouth I’ve ever seen. Perhaps, you know her? ❞ A wide grin cast over his lips as he leaned against the counter. A t-shirt loosely hung over his features, making him stick out like a sore thumb in the club. If his face wasn’t plastered on every bus in the city, people wouldn’t look at him twice. He liked being recognizable. With enough celebrity, you didn’t have to care about the dress code in a country club.
Chris ran his fingers along the counter, pointedly annoying Ally. They had a timid relationship that began and ended with snark. She was the only person that didn’t seem to care who he was. He liked that. It was better than any pin straight L.A. girl he ran across. Actresses carried weight, but few held a candle to his current cast. People were better when they didn’t start in California. His hand tapped playfully against the desk. He wanted a cigarette, but lingered to finally ask what he walked over for. He was done socializing for the day, putting his weight towards golfing. He was a shit golfer, but his director liked it. ❝ So, when are you off? ❞
