“Done? --Mexican. Alien. It’s not the same, Ortecho.” Hadn’t she been the one testing Max a while back? Getting disliked for one’s descent and being in danger of getting deported wasn’t fun, but at least their discovery wouldn’t lead to anyone getting dissected.

“You want to...bribe me?” Michael replied slowly, though his facial features only changed minimally. The smile was gone, a seriousness just as sinister having taken place. “I’m not impressed.”

His father’s attire didn’t faze him, Michael quite favoring the deprived decadence of a more devious sexual nature, but Lucifer’s offer didn’t sit well with him. The blonde wouldn’t show as much though. “I’m bringing forth the apocalypse, as prophesized.” Didn’t he deserve more for his efforts? For being who he was? Besides, all the money he could want, was provided by the dumb rich people funding his every operation. “--In your name.”

first and foremost, the last thing that michael should be doing was drinking himself to the point where he felt like it was a good idea to snatch the microphone mid song from the wedding singer. secondly, he was definitely going to regret this in the morning. "hey," he started, his voice slightly slurred, "hey! there's, ya know, something i want to say." he added and took a healthy gulp of the bourbon in his glass as his eyes met his best friend's, "i just wanted you to know that i'm happy for the two of ya. real, real happy," he paused, a small shake of his head following, "but i don't think i'm as happy as i would have been if you would've chosen me. gotta say, it hurts to be a second choice right now. i guess this is also a hell of a time to admit i'm in love with you too, huh?"

michael’s marriage had been loveless for longer than he liked to admit. he wanted nothing more than to love and feel loved again but...at the end of the day, he knew he wasn’t going to keep that from his wife and mother of his children. while his kids were the reason he’d stayed for so long, now they were out of the house and he didn’t really know how to separate from her now. so, he continued through life as he would if his kids were here and buried himself in work. it was really the only time he could get away from her and the way that she made him feel, which wasn’t as good as he hoped his wife would make him feel after all this time.

he was coming home from work when he noticed his new neighbor and offered her a kind smile. the two had talked a number of times but the conversations were short and usually in passing. though, despite that, he approached her. “evening, neighbor.” he greeted, pausing for a moment and shifting on his feet. his wife had gone out of town on a business trip and he could use the company and so, he couldn’t stop what came from his mouth next. “i was thinking of making chicken alfredo for dinner. if you don’t have any plans, would you want to join me?” he hoped that it didn’t look bad but...any time with someone willing to listen to him was a good time in his eyes.

life had been a bit of a rollercoaster over the past few years. for one, his kids were old enough to where they no longer needed them. they lived on their own and left him behind in a home with their mother, a woman he’d managed to fall out of love with long before the kids left but he tried, did what he could to make it work for the sake of being a happy family. there was nothing to distract him though once preston and rowan went their own ways, and so, his marriage ultimately ended in divorce and he was alone more times than not. it’s the whole reason he worked so much and if he wasn’t working, he was trying to find something to distract himself. he’d already stopped at the liquor store and picked up some whiskey and his next stop was the video store. he knew they were a rarity but it was a past time he held close to his heart. he was wandering around, reading the backs of things and he wasn’t paying attention, which is how he managed to knock right into someone. “oh, god. i’m so sorry. are you alright?”

michael’s eyes were glued to the woman in front of him, “just admit it. admit that you don’t love him. admit that you’re still in love with me.” he knew she wouldn’t admit it but that didn’t stop him from pressing her and attempting to get his way. he stepped toward her, closing more space between them. “stop fighting how you feel and take me back.”
