@talesofterrebonne sent: "Ugh, rules are for... rule people." (Eva to Glen)
He could never claim to be a stickler when it came to rules, in general. Hell, he’d broken more rules and expectations and standards than he could count. When it came to keeping his pack safe, there were rules. Protocols. Throwing all caution to the wind, disregarding them could end in someone seriously hurt, or a threat endangering everyone he’d vowed to protect.
So, he didn’t agree, and Glen didn’t disagree either. He simply picked up his coffee mug, held it for a moment beneath his nose to gather the rich, warm scent, then took a drink. Only when it put it back on the table and folded his hands around it did he speak. “Some rules are better left broken, and some followed. Otherwise there’s anarchy in the streets and I dunno about you, but I dislike chaos more than following stupid rules. I mean, you gotta pick the lesser evil. Gotta balance it out, ya know?”
With that, he shrugged and his mouth eased into an easy smile. “But there are rule people who need to take the stick out of their ass and relax a bit.” Following every rule could be just as bad. A different kind of chaos. So, balance. He picked up his coffee again. “And thank goddess I’m not one of them.”
