somewhere in the back of his mind, finn knew that things weren't going to be as easy as they had been the past couple of days. his friends had come and swore to help cover them, and since then just never left, and things with indy had been on a non stop upward trajectory. everything had been so simple and easy, but he knew that it was just the calm before the storm. there was something almost eerie about how calm and effortless the past week had been, finn knowing better than anyone that things never stayed calm for long. he stressed his bottom lip between his teeth, sitting on the edge of the bed he shared with the blonde who put the stars in the sky, eyes trailing over her bare back as he let out a slow breath. the gun was burning a hole in his hand, the weight of it only seeming to worsen the longer he sat there staring at it. he turned to indy, brushing some stray hair away from her face and leaning down to press one soft kiss to her cheek.
"i'll be back soon. gonna take care of you." he promised, voice barely above a whisper as he balanced the loaded gun on one of his thighs. they couldn't survive off two minute noodles and pasta forever, and the last thing he was ever going to do was make indy feel as though she weren't being taken care of. she'd spent her whole life like that - he wasn't going to, not even for one second, make her think she was anything short of ethereal. she deserved the world, so the world he would try and get her. he climbed to his feet, grabbing one of her bandannas and looking himself up and down in the mirror. he unbuttoned the rest of his shirt, his tight jeans desperate to be washed and his hair all over the place. he was a mess. he caught indy's eyes in the mirror, a small smile tugging on his lips as he turned to face her, tucking the gun into the front of his jeans as he did so. "go back to sleep. i'll be home soon." finn promised, leaning down over her body to press a lingering kiss to her lips.
