To see him swanning around as though nothing had occurred, strutting in his royal finery after he’d left her for dead at the top of the beanstalk enraged Jack and her hand clutched about her sword hilt before she could truly consider the implications such actions might bring. She did, however, have the sense not to approach immediately, but rather wait until he separated from the rest of his guard before she cornered him in a quiet street before he entered the tavern.
A swift kick to the back of the knee was delivered to put him off balance before she swung her blade to rest threateningly against his throat. With a slow step, she rounded to look at his face, lips curling into a too sweet smile that did not match the cold steel of her gaze. “Long time no see, James...”
