Months had passed since Aurora's last prophecy. Rabastan had been thrilled to hear it, though for many months it left his mind. The words became unimportant in the scheme of everything else that happened. Aside from the war and his work, he'd dealt with his own unwanted betrothal, Alecto's accident and pregnancy, their marriage, and a festering grudge against his parents. It had been a dramatic impetus that he dearly wished to expunge from his memory. Fortunately, things had calmed and he was now looking forward to his growing family. He merely wished that the war was already won, so that his children would be born into a world that was worthy. But it did not seem as though the end were coming any time soon, much to his innate disappointment.
Once he'd processed the unexpected turns in his life, his temperament returned to its usual calm and he recalled Aurora's words. Even with Alecto's growing figure staring him in the face every day, it took a long time for him to decipher it. But he'd worked it out and he was impeccably excited. He'd considered writing to Aurora to inform her that the prophecy had come true, and to find out whether she'd thought about using her skills for the war. It would have been quicker. But upon deciding that it would be better discussed in person, he'd abandoned that idea and resolved to find a moment to visit her shop Diagon Alley. That moment had never arrived. Yet here he now stood, staring fortuitously at the witch from across the cobbles. He stepped over them, smiling coldly yet keenly.
"Miss Sinistra," he greeted, moving out of the way of some children scurrying after magical fireworks. "I've been meaning to visit you."
