Lauren had given him time and had given him space. It’d been a week and Lauren had thought he’d have reached out by now. They needed to talk and usually, she’d give him the space to process more but...well, she thought the longer they left it, the harder it would be to talk about it. To fix things between them. And though she’d been waiting for his move, Lauren knew that it really was up to her to take the first steps; she was the one in the wrong after all.
Which was why she was on the way up to Dominic’s penthouse, a bottle of his favorite in her hand as she anxiously got up the courage to explain herself. Keeping her abortion from Dominic was probably the worst thing she’d ever done to her ex-husband and she felt terrible that he’d found out the way he had. But they needed to talk about it properly, when they weren’t both under the influence and when the emotions weren’t supremely high.
The private elevator stopped and she took a deep breath as the doors dinged open and she carefully stepped out into the foyer. Dominic had never locked her out of his place and she’d been surprised when she’d still been allowed up, without the concierge ringing first. It felt like a good sign but he also could’ve just forgotten.
“Hello? Dominic?” she called out, hoping to God she wasn’t interrupting something.
