“Good morning Shuri,” Bucky called out to the princess as the doctor finished up his routine check up, “How are you this morning?”

It was the eighties, a time of many wonders, including mutants. After HYDRA discovered that Magneto was still alive, on the loose after the whole ordeal with Apocalypse, they sent the Winter Soldier after him, hunting the loose ends left behind. The Winter Soldier had a feeling he was close on the trail as he made his way to Poland, destined for the graveyard in a small town.

Bucky was awake, that must have meant they had answers to getting his memories back, right? He pushed through the cryo sickness, standing up and wobbling out as he glanced at the Wakandans, awaiting an answer as to why he was awake. He was already shaking from the beginning phases of waking up again, but he knew he would be because of the anticipation from possibly getting his memories back fully. He wanted them, craved them. He needed to remember his life, he needed to remember what he was like before HYDRA turned him into this monster.

"Look, I'm sorry about your friends, but we gotta do what we can to get them back. That means putting aside our own issues." Bucky didn't know why he was spared yet Steve had to go. It was all random, but he would have preferred it to be reversed. Steve was still so innocent and righteous, he didn't deserve that fate and Bucky would do anything to get him back.
