capsize. // tiana & nathan.
Tiana was an early riser. Force of habit made her body automatically start running at 7am, and there was very little she could do about it. As comfortable as the bed was, she still couldn’t sleep any more once her eyes opened. That being said, the few precious hours she did get were possibly the best sleep she’d had in ages. She lowly got up, the house still enveloped in eerie silence, which was strange for her, since when she got up at home, her mom was already in the kitchen making breakfast.
Breakfast. The thought of it alone made Tiana’s stomach growl. She hadn’t eaten in over twelve hours. She needed to eat something. After a few tries, she found the kitchen. It was empty, like the rest of the house. She glanced around for a moment before starting to rummage the cupboards and the fridge for food. She gathered the ingredients for pancakes and started making the mix, careful not to be too loud.
She hummed a little tune to herself as she cooked, an old song her dad had taught her when she was little. She always hummed or sang it when she was cooking. It made her feel closer to him. She flipped pancakes and tossed them onto a plate with ease, not even paying much attention to how many she had. She thought Nathan might want some breakfast as well, and while she wasn’t about to start doing him any favors, it was as much as she could do after his actions the night before.
