meiqi has never been the type of person to enjoy a night in alone, unless she’s in a mood. that’s partly the reason why being a trainee is so invigorating. throughout the day, she’s surrounded with other people whose dreams are similar, if not the same, as hers. they work until their muscles are sore and heads are dizzy all day, and then return home late enough and exhausted enough to drift into slumber as soon as their heads hit the pillows. weekends are less demanding, and meiqi can head over to a friend’s house or out to a late dinner as long as it’s pre-planned (she’s learned through various occasions that perhaps her company isn’t always welcomed to family dinners or date nights).
on this particular day, she’s finished with training and is ready to leave the building a mere hour after training (she always tries to stay later not only to squeeze in some personal practice, but also to appease any other trainees or coaches instead of appearing to slack off compared to her coworkers). she’s supposed to attend a friend’s party, but an incoming text message warns her against it: “some1 complained, cops r here” and leaves meiqi with a bland evening to spend by herself.
but she quickly catches sight of another trainee, kim seokjin if she remembers correctly, on his way out as well. on instinct, she leaps into action and chases after him with arms waving in the air. “sunbae! sunbae!” when she’s gotten his attention, falling into stride with the older male, she smiles up at him in greeting. “i haven’t gotten to properly know you. would you like to grab a drink with me?”
