⊰ Ꮗ .Ꮦ . ⊱───── “So, what do you think about going up to Stonehenge for the Equinox?” The query came right out of nowhere, wholly unexpected given the nature of their previous conversation. One which had thankfully dried up as Dantalion was not a particularly keen individual on the topic of politics. But a proposition of travel was not a particularly common one from William, and certainly not to a place which was famed for it’s occult background and mysticism.
The two sat across from one another at the patio table of a local cafe William favored. The summer days had been warm, yet not overly so. Just perfect for a little outdoors seating of which to enjoy the day with a bit of iced coffee and light reading. William idly skimmed the paragraphs of his book through the dark lenses of his name brand sunglasses, perfectly aware he was being stared at and seemingly desperate not to give the game away. It was as if he knew were he to acknowledge Dantalion’s stare he would be subjected to teasing, laughter or even that ridiculous grin of his. Of course, the second he viewed such a sight he would lose himself and a grin would be shared in kind, utterly against his will.
But alas, eventually the feeling of eyes on him grated on the boy and without daring to look up he addressed his boyfriend.
“Look, before you judge me consider the scientific benefits,” he argued. “It will be the date in which day and night are nearly equal, and we can have a perfect view of jupiter and the moon in the sky.” He spoke as if this were his only goal, yet it was not difficult to decipher his true meaning. The former elector wished for seclusion, away from all others that would distract from their togetherness. But apart from that there was a lingering interest in the mystical properties of the place. William was so much more open-minded than he had been in his last incarnation and while at this age he had rejected magic and unscientific things completely, in this life he had no fear of expressing intrigue.
Not completely, anyway.
“Besides, knowing you, you’ll just try to drag me off to some political event in Hell as your ‘plus one’ and I’ll be both terribly bored and avoiding hungry looks from less gentlemanly beasts. I’d rather brave the chilly north.” he did have a point in that, at least.
