halloween event starter for @idjowi
dax could say that he was absolutely having the time of his life. everything about the event was right up dax’s alley; he didn’t have to pretend to be anything that he wasn’t because there were no cameras, no one to see how messy he could get. the idols there knew solidarity was thing for hat night because they were all going to do things that couldn’t be leaked to public, so mouths were zipped shut. what happens in an idol event stays in the idol event. dax couldn’t keep up with the amount of drinks he was having, not that that was too big of a problem. if there was one thing dax knew it was that he could hold his alcohol fairly well.
he didn’t have a problem. dax always thought that as long as he was aware and in control that his drinking wasn’t a problem. and for the most part, it wasn’t. he could have a night cap or five and then wake up in the morning ready to start the day without even and inkling of a hangover. but he knew that he used it as a crutch more times than not. he allowed himself to be taken away into feeling less alone. when he drank, he could have friends; he could sit at a bar or a club or a restaurant and let the alcohol take over his mind and make him more sociable. it was where dax was able to get out of the image hole he had been put into and a reason to interact with other people that he actually wanted to be around. dax had never been good at having friends, but he had made himself a little world where he felt a little closer to having a friend.
he had san, who he had known for his whole time at midas, someone who he would actually consider himself pretty close to. and through san he met jowi. jowi was wild and unpredictable and dax absolutely loved being around her. she was the kind of person dax could easily shoot the shit with because both of them felt contained by their jobs and by the face they had to put on for other people. when they hung out, dax didn’t have to think about anything other than having a good time.
as he finished off the drink in his hand, he made his way up to the bar, grabbing a fresh whiskey on the rocks, trying to avoid eye contact with idols he absolutely didn’t want to talk to. even if the alcohol made it easier for him to socialize, that didn’t mean he wanted to with everybody. he spotted jowi near him, a large black hoodie seemingly swallowing her whole. he chuckled at the sight before walking over to her, careful not to spill his fresh drink.
“jowi what the hell are you wearing? you could swim in that fucking tent of a hoodie.” he took a small sip out of his drink and looked at her from other the rim of his glass. “i thought you were a cat earlier...”
